Did You Know....Greek Yogurt

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Realty Center

Greek Yogurt is causing quite a stir.  On its own, it's been a health food star for a couple of years because of its pumped-protein, low sugar levels and tantalizing tang.  Now, Greek yogurt is showing up everywhere.  I know that I love it!!

Creamy Dips:  Try using Greek yogurt blended with caramelized onions and roasted red peppers for a great dip!

Sweet Snack Bars:  Greek yogurt is found in many nutritional snack bars, since they are packed with protein and fiber, but they are not high in sugar like many other breakfast bars.

Frozen Treats:  Greek yogurt is found in many frozen treats, like Ben & Jerry's.  It is ultra creamy, and are usually less than 130 calories per serving.

Baby Food:  Greek yogurt can provide an extra boost of healthy digestion promoting protein for your baby.

I have made it into a spread by letting it drain through a cheesecloth overnight and then add fresh herbs to it. Makes a nice soft low fat spreadable cheese.

Kristin- I'm going to try it again.  I love yogurt and in fact, my husband, Larry, puts it in the bread he makes.  Haven't quite developed a taste for it but I may try doing what Cindy does.  Thanks, and have a great weekend.
