In honour of today being World Pasta Day, I give you the simplest of pasta recipes that comes from none other than Tom Cruise . . .
This is his famous Carbonara recipe that I've made so many times because it is so simple yet so tasty:
- olive oil (for frying pan)
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 chopped onion
- 8 to 12 thick slices bacon, cut into small pieces
- 4 eggs
- spaghetti, fettuccine or linguine ( I like fresh)
- 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
In a bowl, beat 4 eggs with lots of salt and fresh ground pepper.
Bring a pan of salted water to a boil. Cook your choice of pasta until al dente, drain and immediately add egg mixture to pasta. The eggs are actually cooked by the pasta. Stir the egg mixture until it is well mixed. Pour in the mixture from the frying pan and stir. Finish with the Parmesan cheese and serve!
And, if you're in the mood for a new home to experiment with new recipes, give me, Susan Emo, a call and allow me the pleasure of finding you the perfect place in Gananoque, Kingston or the 1000 Islands region.
