The annual Delta Delta Christmas Tour of Homes will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1-5 p.m. in Alvin, TX. Every year I have the privilege of working the home tour, and this year you’ll find me there again, helping to direct people through one of the beautiful homes on the tour.
There are five stops on the home tour, and the best place to start is at the historic Alvin Train Depot at 121 E. Willis Street. The Keep Alvin Beautiful Committee will sponsor an open house at the depot and there will be baked goods and craft items available to purchase. You can also purchase your tour tickets at the depot.
The four homes open for touring are the Urick home at 2822 CR 145, the Bordelon home at 404 South Beauregard, the Owen home at 1123 CR 136-A, and the Wennerstrom home at 1088 Bethany Lane.
All of the homes will be festively decorated for Christmas – inside and out! It’s such a treat to get to tour the lovely homes and see what the families have done with them.
Tickets for the tour can be purchased at any of the homes or at the depot on the day of the tour for $10. You can also get them early for a discounted price of $8 from any Delta Kappa Gamma member, or at Helen’s Flowers, DaVinci Beauty Salon, or at the Alvin-Manvel Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Alvin Christmas Tour of Homes is sponsored by the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society of key women educators. Proceeds from the home tour will go to the Brazoria County Women’s Center, the Alvin Family Community Center, and to the Delta Delta Leadership Development Fund. The sale of craft items and baked goods at the Train Depot will provide scholarships for education.
Hope to see you there this year! Look for me at the Bordelon home!
