It's Christmas in the Phoenix Area!  Christmas light displays are always fun to look at for adults and kids alike.  If you're looking for a way to celebrate and get in the Christmas spirit, here are just three events featuring awesome light displays that are taking place in the Phoenix Area.

Las Noches de las Luminarias - One of the Valley's longest and most unique holiday events, The Desert Botanical Garden presents more than 8,000 hand lit luminaria bags and thousands of white twinkle lights. Roam around the gardens looking at the lights and listening to handbells ringing and Dickens Carolers singing. Visit the gardens for this event on Dec 7 to 9, Dec 14 - 23 and Dec 26 - 30. Admission is $25 for adults and $12.50 for children 3 - 12 with lower prices for members. Get more information at the Desert Botanical Garden website.

Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo - This could be one of the largest light displays around with 3.6 million lights in 700 light displays! New this year is the 'Music in Motion Light Spectacular' with music from the Trans Siberian Orchestra synchronized to more than 15,000 lights. The kids will love it and you might end up making it a family holiday tradition. It runs at the Phoenix Zoo from 6 to 10pm nightly until January 13. There is a maximum admission charge of $14 per adult on any night of the week. Get more information at the Phoenix Zoo website

Glendale Glitters - More than 1.5 million lights are shimmering throughout a 12 block area of Historic Downtown Glendale. Every night from 5 to 10pm until January 12th enjoy the lights, entertainment and street vendors at this festive free event. Historic Glendale is located east and north of 59th and Glendale Avenues. There are more than 2,000 free parking spaces within a 10 minute walk but parking at the Glendale community College at 59th and Olive and taking the 5 minute shuttle ride may be a better option.

Please add a comment if you know of any other great holiday light displays.
