Holiday Light Displays in Palm Beach County!  Let’s Go Look at Lights!

Quick..... raise your hand if you love looking at holiday light displays!   So christmas lightsgrab the kids and a thermos of hot chocolate and prepare to get into the holiday spirit!!!

We may not have snow in South Florida and many times at Christmas we’re in shorts and flip-flops but seeing a Palm Tree decorated with twinkly white lights, or Santa in a sleigh can’t help but put you in the mood to sing “Jingle Bells!”

Each year the Sun Sentinel publishes an interactive map, Light Up South Florida, where people can upload their house and even include a link

And if you’re going to be travelling around Florida, check out this Guide to Florida Christmas lights.

One of my favorites is the Holiday Light Show at a private residence in Boca Raton.  All donations go to the Make a Wish Foundation.  You can tune into a local station when you’re at the house and listen to music; Santa makes an appearance on Christmas Eve, and there’s so much more.

I do love looking at the lights. I live in Colorado, and we don't have any snow, either. It's rather unusual, but this season has been so warm. It's not flip flop weather, but all I need is a light jacket.

Good morning, Kathy..... I love to look at homes that are decorated tastefully for christmas.... but there needs to be snow on the ground or it doesn't seem like christmas!!!!

Nearby, we have a CandyCane lane where blocks and blocks of homes participate each year, and donations are accepted too

What a great display!  Certainly would put me in the Christmas mood!  Looking at lights is one of my most favorite things to do at this time :))))  Who needs snow?  The older I'm getting, I'm thinking I can do without the white stuff!

I'm with Barbara on the tasteful part.  I am a big fan of lights but not so much the huge blow up guys who lay flat and dead on the lawn during the day.

Dorie- we'll be heading out next week for a look.  I remember we'd go to a few neighborhoods in Houston that had every street lit up.

Debbie- I don't mind the warm weather because that's why we're here but I guess I'd expect snow in Colorado.

BarbaraT- not going to happen here unless someone trucks it in.

Kristin- I love the name.. Candy Cane Lane.

John- so , do they put lights on the cactus in NM???

Barbara- many thanks.  The boat parade is tonight.

Christine- I've never had a white Christmas.. ever!  Maybe just once I'd love to see one.

Liz- I agree with you.  Some houses have so much all you see is a bunch of colored lights!

You have a Griswald house in South Florida! LOL, I can walk to one in my neighborhood too. I love to walk around and see the lights but no flip flops here!

Thanks for sharing your community activities for the holidays.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Dolores and I spent today, Saturday, at the beautiful Baltimore Museum of Art to see the new Contemporary Art Wing that opened in November.
