New Year’s Eve Ball Drop In Media, Delaware County PA

media paHave you ever wanted to be in Time Square on New Year’s Eve to watch the Ball Drop?  Is this on your Bucket list?  Well treat yourself to the next best thing; watch the Ball drop on New Year’s Eve in Media, PA!  Media is host to a New Year’s Eve Ball Drop located at the corners of State and Jackson Streets.   The County Seat of Delaware County knows how to bring in the New Year!

Going to the Big Apple to experience this annual event can be costly and prohibitive for many of us, but heading out to Media can be very affordable and offer the next best thing on New Year’s Eve: being out in the elements with friends, loved ones and/or strangers!

According to Media’s Event Calendar this is a “snow or shine” FREE Event.  Starting at 11 PM there will be live entertainment provided by Philly Gumbo, a Philadelphia based band that will set a festive mood with their New Orleans flavored music.  Philly Gumbo's music along with being with many revelers braving the elements, will be a great lead up to the final countdown of 2012 and will help to usher in the beginning a great new year 2013!

If you are wondering what you are doing on New Year’s Eve why not consider bringing in the New Year by watching the Ball Drop on State and Jackson Streets in downtown Media!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Gloria and Doug - I don't think I would want to be in NYC on new years eve.  That's just way too many people for me.  I must be getting old.  Now new years eve in Media sounds like my kind of event.   Happy new year to both of you!

Hi Jim, I am like you, the only way I would venture to NYC on New Year's Eve is if I have a place to stay a few blocks away.

Happy New Year to you also!

Gloria

Free is always good, and I would rather be in Media, PA, than in New York City. I hope you get a chance to enjoy this event.
