As the market continues to be challenging, a familiar occurrence will be for agents to realize that the office that they are currently in is not necessarily the right office for them.  Some will be justified in their decision to “jump ship” and others will make decision for the “wrong reason.”

With marketing being so critical to every agent’s survival in the real estate business, those who have not blended into this phase of the business will become very weak and eventually eliminate themselves.  This can all be resolved before that ultimate moment occurs.

I’ve mentioned many times that interviewing every year is a healthy task, and it will confirm that an agent’s existing office is the right one; or it will emphasize the need for change.  If change is in the picture, it’s very important that one selects properly.

Mentoring is the key to success.  Without a good mentor, one will become stagnant.  Stagnant is not a word that should be used when describing real estate agents.  If you are not being mentored by someone where you are, you may want to start your search for the right office.  The office that will provide some much needed direction with marketing and making the phone ring. 

Money is always an issue, but unless your phone rings, it won’t matter if you’re on a 100% and no fees schedule!!!  You still won’t make any money, and you will have jumped from the frying pan into the fire!!

Tammie.... that's not how an office should be set up....there should be a mentor/manager/broker/owner or some combination thereof in every office for every agent to use....

Barbara, This is a post that really makes since. If you are not happy in this business there is almost no hope. Interviewing  each year definitely makes sure you are in the right place. Just remember, you have to take YOU along wherever you go.
