Medium rare, endangered, “Pointy-horn Owl” spied at a point in Seattle

By
Home Inspector with Charles Buell Inspections Inc.

More to the point---at least I had never seen one before.

Pointy-horn Owl

The critter actually let me get up close and personal to see just how pointy those pointy horns actually are.  I wonder if the point about their being endangered has something to do with their points?  It looks more like they would be a danger to themselves---as well as others.

Pointy-horn Owl

Some things are better off pointless I guess.

Hi Charles,

Too funny. I though the first shot looked a little ODD to say the least. What you had extra time on your hand and you went fishing instead of working?

What's up with that. I wish I had the time to go fishing every now and then. but then again we need water to fish. :-)

Have a great day in the Seattle area.

Best, Clint McKie

We have in our area an woodpecker that is endangered and before you can take down a tree you have to call wildlife fish and game to confirm that the woodpecker is not nesting in one of the trees.

Clint, the building is an appartment building that is half on land---half over the water.  The picture was taken from the parking garage that is out over the water.

Richard, we have similar restrictions around here.

What was the line from Caddyshack? Something like "never mind the prosthetic wires, doctors orders!"

Charles -- it is interesting that the folks who installed the owl would think they need to put those wires on to keep birds from perching on the owl.  I thought that is what the owl was for, to keep the other birds away!

That is an amazing find!  I hope you notified all the appropriate bureaus and even the Smithsonian.  The local zoo might want to know too.

Those antenna must be for mind reading.  That's how Uncle Martin's mind reading happened, with those raised antenna.

He seems a bit standoffish. Your sure that isn't an alien bird? :)

Richard that was an awesome movie wasn't it?

Steven, I think that probably tells you something about how effective the idea is :)

Kristin, does that attract other deer or keep them away though?

Fred, not sure what the wire was all about---it wasn't connected to anything

Rebecca, nope---it might be the last time

Curtis, you just need to devolope more patience:)

Jay, all it is missing is the tin foil

Dick, it would be fun if it had eyes that glowed in the dark or something

Michael, like I said---medium rare bird :)

Jim, I was thinking alien but like I told Jay, the tin foil was missing

Robert, all it needs is the inaudible electronic rodent deterent :)

Rene, indeedibly
