From The Mouths Of Children...

Lately, I've been burning the candle at both ends, which I enjoy, but I have to work hard at taking a moment to enjoy what is going on around me.  Standing in line at the convenience store to pay for my gas (irritated because the outside credit card swipe wouldn't work), growing impatient because the first person in line wrote a check, starting to get exasperated because the person in front of me had to go out to their car to get more money to pay for their purchase (geez, I have something productive to do...hurry up!)...a little girl behind me was telling her mom "Relax.  It doesn't matter if we get there a few minutes late, it will still be Eric's birthday.  He'll be happy we came."

Wow.  I needed that.  The calm surety of that little girl's voice just washed my impatience away, eased my revved-up mind.  Just a few seconds later, I paid for my gas and noticed the sun setting against the mountains to the west in my rear view mirror.  Taking a moment, I got out of my truck and watched the colors change, a sense of peace and gratitude soothed my soul.

Getting into traffic, I reflected on what had just happened, and silently thanked the little girl as I drove on.  Had she not spoken up at the right moment, I would have just jumped in and sped onto my next destination and missed enjoying a classic Tucson sunset.

Thank you little girl at the Circle K, you made my day without knowing it.

Wow that is a very mature comment for a little girl. How old do you think she was?

Isn't it funny how one little moment can change our whole attitude on things?  There is no one better at changing our outlook on life than children.

As the father of a three year old... there are times when the wisdom of the ancients just falls out of their mouths.  And other times... not so much.

Kent, that is a very sweet story. Out of the mouth of babes.

By the way what is e-certified.  I have the e-Pro but I'm not familiar with e-certified.
