Why does everyone assume I have a smart phone??

I still have a "basic flip phone". It makes calls, takes calls and I can do short texting. What it is NOT is a typewriter. What is doesn't do is, make BUTT dials.

More worry's are, that I am going to  becoming like most, heads down and screwing with it all the time. People are always messing with them when in class, business meetings, walking across the street or in the middle of talking to me. When it beeps, it has PRIORITY. I think the person talking to you should have PRIORITY. This is starting to sound like a rant. I just am worried about becoming one off THEM.

I was amazed by a TV add that wanted to sell you a smart phone at a "low" rate if you traded yours in. What are they going to do with the old one?  Snoop thru your hard drive? I of course don't have a smart phone, Am I "chopped liver? How did you handle not being addicted to your smart phone3?

Rob, everyone assumes you have one because most other real estate agents do! LOL, the unintentional dialing is annoying at times! Sometimes my hand swipes the phone and I'm calling someone without meaning to.

Sharon: It can be bad if they hear something they shouldn't

Mark: Agreed we are in that world.

Rob - This is one toy I don't have to worry about.

Since I work from home and there is no cell signal here, the only phone I have is a little flip pre-paid to use in case I need to phone home when I'm away - which isn't often. I buy 90 minutes every 3 months, and now I believe I'm up to about 600 minutes of pre-paid time. Be nice if I ever want to make a really long call.

Meanwhile... I almost wish I could justify buying one. The camera on my son's phone is awesome.

Hey whatever works for you!  You shouldn't feel like you have to have one.  It is annoying how everyone is heads down these days!  We have all become so attached....it's a bit frightening where it will lead us!

Hi Rob, Addicted! When I'm in a business meeting I usually will keep in in my purse with the volume on vibrate. That said, I have found myself when out with hubby pulling my phone out when he has his head down looking at his. Not good for conversation for sure.
