Where are the magic beans?

Bean StalkIn the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, the little boy Jack's family falls on hard times and when their cow stops producing milk he trades it in for some magic beans. The magic beans grow this enormous bean stalk into the clouds where Jack has an adventure with a giant. He ends up eventually coming down with a golden harp and a hen that lays golden eggs. All is restored and Jack marries a great princess and lives happily ever after.

In real estate, I keep hearing those who are searching for the magic beans to get their businesses to make money and thrive especially in a downturn. They are searching for what may be likened to what you hear called a "silver bullet." Magic doesn't just "happen" in real life. People who work hard are often called "lucky." But real success requires planning, adjustment to reality, and this:

HARD WORK!!

Everyone can see the fruits of your labor after the fact but they don't often see the preparation that went into it beforehand. You can't skip the fundamental steps that are required to build a solid business like lead generation, systems, and building your relationships. You must be willing to do the work to get the business off the ground.

Hard work is the magic beans in the real world that will allow you to live happily ever after.

This is a good post.  I do think that cultivating your database is one way for lead generation.  It's just that you need to be persistent at a minimum and consistent with those whom you already have relationsips with.

Sometimes we get caught up with stress and frustrations and forget to go back to the basics.  Great Post Gary!

I love the analogy here Gary this is real stuff and it is very true.  No one sees what you do behind the scenes just want the quicky antedote.

Gary, not just magic beans, but many are hoping for the magic bullet....fast results. We cannot control the results, only our actions!

Larry: Cultivating the database especially when you have the time to do it is an excellent technique for building business.

Kelly: I think more people are figuring out the basics that they have ignored need to be focused on again.

Linda: We live in a quick fix society you are right.

Colleen: I like that you honed in on what you can control - YOU!! So true.

Gary-

I love the "basics", and, yes, we indeed learned just about everything worth knowing in Kindergarten!

Your Jack and the Beanstock anaolgy is great!  There is so much wisdom in Nursery Rhymes!  A few months back I wrote one called, "FHA and the Three Little Pigs".  Such WISDOM!!!

I hope you have a wonderful day my friend!

Live good. Be happy.

Gary,

Your post reminded me of that old saying "the harder I work, the luckier I get".

It's a universe based on 'action' and it's all interactive.....all I can say is  WHAT FUN!   (((-:

Mimi: I knew I needed to remember those nursery rhymes from way back when LOL.

Jo: Action produces results if properly applied, no doubt about it!!

Gary--I kind of like the magic blogging beans myself...But maybe they are more like real beans because for them to work there is alot of work and cultivation before the blog produces the results. I don't think there are any quick fixes!

Gary, I do wish we had magic beans---but plain old hard work will get us to the same place with just the results we're looking for.  Great story :)

Teri: Magic blogging beans, so that's your secret :)

Carole: If I had the magic beans I could make a fortune selling them.

Elaine: Finding the beans would be the short cut. Now who spilled the beans on that truth?

Arina: Any of us that get blessed (with magic beans), I think it is our duty to share. If a beanstalk starts to grow in my backyard I'll hold back a few beans back for you <Smile>.

And if you get extraordinarily rich with all your talent at your business promise to drive me around town in your Bentley when I visit!!

Gary, I completely agree.  Hard work and dedication are keys to our success.  We have to work hard today for that pay some 30 to 60 days later.  So if we are slow now.  How hard did we work 45 days ago?
