Did You Fail to Plan?

Wednesday night at our S.O.S. meeting (Sisterhood Of Stagers) one of our topics for discussions was our business plans for the New Year.  I told the group I started 2008 by studying my strategic plan again.  Years ago I met with John Maver at www.mavermanagement.com at the inception of my staging business.  On the 5th anniversary he contacted me for a refreshing update.  The stagers in my home shared they did not have strategic plans for their businesses!  I shared the key points of mine with them and want to share them with you in case some you do not have one either.....

Objective     ie....  what type of homes   price/  size  do you want to stage

Goals             ie....  how much Rev /Profit   ,   # of clients

Strategies    ie....  how do you want to promote and develop your business

Measures      ie...   # if Realtors served, # of repeat clients, $ % increase in resale value, website hits

Tactics          ie...   build referrals, develop presentation materials, website  etc.

Warmly,  Cathy Lee

PSS. If you can gather a few stagers in your community in a home and network to foster good spirit and share ideas, DO! S.O.S. is having a SIF roundtable in the summer so please plan to come!!

Welcome to the blogging world - you have been lurking on AR for some time so I can't welcome you to AR. With your 5 years of experience you will have much to share here and please do - we all like learning more about others' successes and failures, questions and answers.

Great 1st Blog!  Having a business plan is so important.  Reviewing it once or twice a year is a must.  You would laugh if you saw my 1st business plan!  I had a lot of large numbers to say the least.  I needed to stop dreamin' and get realistic.  It was an eye opener! :)

It is nice to dream Janice!!!  It is great you had a plan!!  Now that you have been working for awhile you can be more realistic and tweak it.

Best Wishes,

Cathy Lee, ASP  www.cldesignservices.com
