8th Annual Project Holiday -Delray Beach and Boca Raton- Gifts for Our Troops!  November 8-December 6, 2013!

You Are Not Alone” and “One Soldier at a Time” have come together to Us flagsupport the city’s Project Holiday.

We’re approaching the time of year when families and friends come together to celebrate the holidays, but as you know, there are many serving our country who will not be with their loved ones.

Project Holiday has become as much a gift to our community as it is to our military personnel.   Giving to others is the best way to capture the spirit of the holiday.  Through this effort, much needed items will be collected and sent to our troops to let them know they are not forgotten and that we appreciate what they do.

Donations will be accepted between November 8 through December 6, 2013.

Kathy, I like these organized days of collection for the troops. Many of the lower ranks don't have extra money and will especially appreciate being thought of.

Kristin- I know there will be.

Alexandra- this is what our country was built on, and I know that we'll all pitch in to help.

Patty- thanks.  You know, so many of our retirees do a lot of volunteering here, it's good that they're active and still contributing.

Jeffrey- it is sad and something that they willingly take on.  We owe it to them to help wherever and whenever we can.

Debb- it's very important to pass this tradition of "giving" down to our children.

Roy-  I wonder about the men and women who may not have families who can send all of the things they need.  It's not inexpensive.

Barbara-Jo- I know that there are many communities that are participating in some way.

Connie- I do hope that clubs, schools and other organizations will participate.

Debbie- that is so true.  I know we have many families of the military who are struggling just to make it here.

Kathy, This is a fabulous event.  My husband was active military for many years, and I can't tell you how much the soldiers love to receive care packages!  Joe always mentioned how much the troops love gum!

Kathy how nice for everyone to pitch in and support our troops.  I helped out with one of these events a few years ago,  Such a worthy cause.  Thank you for blogging about it to spread the word.
