Why I really love Marco Island May through November!

Or another title for this could be "Shopping Survival Tatics in Southwest Florida"

I crossed the SS Jolley Bridge yesterday on what is best called a shopping adventure.  Why is this little trip significant?  Well it is season and driving around here when all the snowbirds are here becomes a challenge.  Each day it gets a little more difficult with the influx of the snowbirds.  It also makes me start counting the days until Easter, when most flock home.

It sounds to me you need to move back to New Jersey where folks really know how to drive!  :)

I lived in Denver for 20+ years. We merge at 10 miles an hour. I've never heard of a zipper merge. What is that so I can add it to my vocabulary.

This explains a comment I heard you make today...when you asked if it was a NJ driver.

Ravi --- I forgot about jug-handles -- to make a left turn you have to make a right turn.  Go figure!

Dena -- Zipper merge, cars alternate who merges in, one from the left one from the right, and so on.

Teri -- I had a rough day with NJ drivers....  I am ok today...

I love this post Colleen!  You can tell the day of the week by the proportion of California license plates on the road!

Renee -- the joys of living in a resort community.  I really do love Marco Island, just seems that there are times that definately can stress those that live on Marco Island.  Something to consider when deciding to move here.

Colleen:

Do not envy you the continual traffic in season.  How do you set times on showings, not knowing how long it will take to fight the traffic?

You have given me a great idea for a post tho.  I have something similar with Branson, but reverse the time of year.  Great shopping at discount malls, etc in Branson.  Bumper to bumper traffic in the summer.

Joan -- it usually is the main roads that have issues, if you know the Island well enought you can zip around traffic once on the Island.  It is the off Island stuff that gets to be trickier.
