BAMBOO - THE ECO-FRIENDLY MIRACLE PRODUCT - EVEN SHIRTS OF BAMBOO

Bamboo, it's all the rage AND ECO friendly. Bamboo is actually considered to be a grass. By now, you've probably seen some bamboo flooring. Very pretty isn't it and made from an easily renewable resource. You may have heard that bamboo floors are too soft and dent. There are different types of bamboo flooring and some is harder than others. It depends on the process that was used to make it. Bamboo grows quickly and doesn't need much attention. It reaches maturity in about 4 years and can be grown without pesticides. It's 100% biodegradeable and is antimicrobial ..as least for shirts. Did you know you can make clothing out of it ?

I have a listing with bamboo floors. Very nice and seem to be as hard as oak. At least that was how they were advertised. Do you know if bamboo can be grown in the US? That would make it even better :)

In response to Jackie's question: Yes, Bamboo can be grown in the U.S. I read that it grows in the Southeast U.S. I know I use to live in Birmingham, AL and there was bamboo at the Botanical Garden. There are probably varieties that are more cold hardy than others. Birmingham gets freezing temperatures for a couple of weeks during the winter. There are 91 genera and about 1,000 species of bamboo. They are typically found in hot tropical regions. Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on Earth. It can grow 47.6 inches in a 24-hour period .There are two general patterns for the growth of bamboo: "clumping" (sympodial) and "running" (monopodial) Make sure you get the right one. If you get running, watch out, it will take over.

All products made from bamboo are eco-friendly. When bamboo is used in clothing or in towels, it makes it very soft and comfirtable.
