Raleigh, NC: We got the power! Brainpower!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Realty Arts

BizJournals ranks the Raleigh Metro area #8 in Brainpower.

It isn't like making the Final Four, I suppose, but recognition of all that cranial capacity sure is heartwarming anyway.

The RTP, University of North Carolina, NC State, Duke, SAS in Cary, and myriad other innovative employers have created a climate of excellence that is noteworthy.

Congratulations to the other members of the Top Ten:

Madison

Washington, DC

San Jose

Bridgeport-Stamford

Boston

San Francisco-Oakland

Minneapolis-St Paul

Raleigh

Seattle

Colorado Springs

Mike, having lived in NC it doesn't surprise me that Raleigh would be in the top 10.  Now Madison being #1; that was a surprise to me.

Marchel,

I'm working hard to not pull down the rating singlehanded...

Ray,

The influence of all that brainpower around me has taught me to hold off crowing until the deal is sealed.

Did you see what Kansas did to UNC?

Ouch!

Eleanor,

What is wrong with an 11 year old Lion Scout with a particle accelerator in a red wagon?

Mike in Tucson,

Welcome Back!  Good to hear from you.

Now we'll just have to wait for Forbes to designate the "10 Dullest Cities," right?

Mike - Missed this one - glad you shared!  Actually I'm surprised Raleigh's at number 8, but we've got pretty good company.  Good to see our nation's capital is, hmm, at least number 2.

Teresa,

So right!

Penny,

You mean it just doesn't have the same cachet as "We're #1?"

LOL

Woo hoo... glad to see my education used as a statistic!

Its actually nice to see, the diversity in education and jobs here helps increase the stability and local economy for everyone.  We are still tied very close to the biotech/medical, technology and education sectors but hopefully those business sectors continue to grow.
