Linking to your blog on CL

Do links to blogs on CL work?

I do a pretty decent amount of advertising on CL and was thinking about adding a link to a blog I recently wrote on the program I am able to offer to buyers.

I am sure many of you have tried this in the past.  How have the results to the ads been?

I have been reading posts that the fancier the ads are, the worse the results, which I have duly noted myself.

Just wondered what others thought!

I have had a few good responses from Craigslist which resulted in offers on the property.  I want more.

Since I wrote this, I tried putting a link to one of my blogs and it has worked out very well.

<>Rosemary - Maybe try doing what I was questioning in this blog.  Put a link to one of your blogs on CL and see how it works!  Best of luck!

Jennifer, yes links in CL do work.I did some today for a matter of fact. What you may want to do is write your post on a blog platform (dont have to publish it) and save it as a draft. Next go and convert the post to HTML or view in HTML and cut and paste that into the CL description. This has worked great for me. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. Be glad to help.

Hi Bryan - thanks for stopping by!

I have been using Stephen's advice.  I use Nvu for my blogs.  I have been writing my CL postings there and copying the html into my ads.  Seems to work good on the font size and style, but I can't seem to get it to change the color.  Thanks!  JENNIFER

Jennifer:

Linking with other sites is a good idea. . .caution, you should also concentrate  in the time it takes for your blog to open. . most people will not wait for all your widgets to load.

just a suggestion. .

Thanks for posting this Jennifer.  I also use Nvu.  Do you include google analytics in your posts to track traffic?  TIA.

If nothing else, putting a link to your blog or web page gives you a good link for the search engines.

Hi Nikia!  Yes, I use Google Analytics to track.  It works great.

Thanks for stopping by Eileen and for the input!

I will have to track my ads and see which ones do better. I have had a few deals that have come

from Craigslist.
