Help me critique my new Mobile IDX website - PLEASE!

By
Real Estate Agent with South Dakota Real Estate Company

Everybody knows how important technology is in real estate these days.  When I started in the business over 5 years ago, I was one of the first REALTORS in my area to really promote and advertise a website.  Unfortunately the brokerage where I used to work didn't allow individual agents to incorporate IDX into their websites so I had to wait until I broke out on my own for that feature.  Mobile Website

I've gotten numerous compliments on my website through the years and the fact that the information is so readily available (no forms) has helped me tremendously in building up a solid buyer-client base.

Now I've taken technology a step further and incorporated the IDX into my mobile website thanks to my computer programming husband and our new business partners at http://theidxstore.com.  We are still tweaking the look but I wanted to get some feedback from other professionals in our industry to see if there is anything you think I should change, modify, etc.

My new goal is to advertise the heck out of my mobile site so that home buyers will be able to use me as a source for information on every cooperating property in our MLS when they are out driving around.   More buyers eventually equals more sellers, more referrals, and more income!

If you have internet capabilities on your cell phone and a few minutes to spare, please check out m.sellwithsusan.com and let me know what you like and what you don't like so I can make this as user-friendly as possible!

I'm thinking it would also be nice to have a place to type in the street number of a house and be taken directly to a list of homes that match that number so the buyer can pick the house he/she is sitting in front of and get all the IDX data for that home.

Thanks for your advice, input, criticisms, etc!!

I am so jealous.  Very nice.  I did a search on homes between $50k & $150k.  It returned 278 results - 25 on the first page.  It kept stalling on me because it is downloading 25 images. Right after I did the search I was trying to scroll through the results with my rollerball on my blackberry - and the screen wouldn't move.  But then when it finished downloading the image - it would jump down the screen. After about 2 minutes I think all the images downloaded and it worked fine.  Overall - the response time was great.  I noticed that the photos on the featured listings page were smaller than those returned in the search so I didn't have the same problem with the stall - and then jumping down the page.  I WISH I COULD HAVE THIS!!!!

Hi Susan, I just checked out your mobile site with my new Iphone...the Iphone is super cool BTW...anyway...it got all messed up and the words were overlapping...maybe just me.  I love the concept and feel this is the future of REal Estate Marketing...keep up or move over folks..this ain't your grandpas real estate experience anymore.  With younger more tech savvy buyers, those that do not adapt to the newest technologies will get left behind...sorry but true.  Great way to stay ahead of the curve...still need to work out some bugs maybe.  I will try it again later and see if I am having the same problem.

Glad you like it!  I'm still in the early promotion stages of mine.  I've run a couple print ads but I think in the fall I am going to run a TV ad promoting how it works.  I've gotten lots of positive feedback from mortgage brokers and my existing clients.

I really like how your mobile site turned out and I think I'm going to tweak mine a little bit too so you can get to the search page right away.

Susan, I like how simple it is to use!  Are your visitors going to be able to search using a map as well? It'd be great to be able to see whats for sale in a given neighborhood.  Can't wait to see all the things you could do with this!
