Do Large For Sale Signs Work

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Real Estate Centre Inc

Someone asked me the other day why I would spend $800 on a large for sale sign to put on a property.  My reply was yes it does, I've had 10 phone calls after only 3 days of putting the sign up.  I now have 3 showing this week and a happy client.

Wow a bigger sign makes a difference? I would have never guessed that one. Do people really miss the regular size signs? Guess it all depnds on the location of the property.

Picture? As they say in the forums, "This thread is worthless without pics".  How big of a sign?  Did you paint the side of the house?  Roof?  Spray a 4x8 sheet of plywood...?  What?

Is it a sign that you can use over and over again?  A picture of the sign would be nice to give us an idea of what you did that was getting more attention.

Unfortunately many cities in our area do not allow bigger signs.  Good luck on your home

David~ I think signs in general bring us more business than most things that we do.  I don't really think that a really big sign is the answer unless your property, or your sign placement is not really visible to start with.  Like Bart said, if the property is overpriced, then it doesn't matter what you do!

Yes the sign is movable at not cost.  I just had another call but it looks like a was able to pick up a prospect.

hmm I wonder if I should buy bigger signs.  I will first get my website designed before I spend money for larger signs though

Well the sign does work but it all comes down to price and location!!  I've had 40 calls so far.  I just wish it would sell.  We are now in the slow season and need it to move.
