Sellers Who Rather Go Into Foreclosure.

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Crescent Moon Realty, Inc. & Land N Sea Auctions.

It is becoming a common theme with some sellers that are facing foreclosure not to care any longer and just let the home go into foreclosure. It seems these sellers are facing obstacles that they think are too insurmountable to handle. It is heart wrenching when you discuss the ramification with a seller that is on the ropes about foreclosure and all they say is that they want out --- they do not care any longer. It seems that these sellers have had all the wind taken out of their sails.

I for one have given many sellers pep talks that are on the brink of disaster and all to often they either tell me that they no longer care or they rather file bankruptcy. Neither of these answers are great solutions. It started me to wondering  "WHY".

Is it hard to say until one walks a mile in the other person shoes, what one may do if faced with this situation.

It Is a sad situation. I  have seen sellers in similar situations and once they stopped making payments they just wanted to stay in the home as long as they could.

I have a seller who is almost to that point. He now wants me to see if we can do a short sale on his properties, but the thing is, he's current on his payments. I don't think the bank will go for it, but we shall see.

We did a pre-foreclosure sale (1 day before)  in NY 5 years ago.  It occurred just before Christmas.  They had 4 children and wouldn't face the reality until it was almost too late.  Very sad!!!  I'd much rather the happy situations to the sad ones.

Sara:

It seems that with a reality such as they are facing--- the seller has given up hope, or will to fight.

Eugene:

Good luck I hope that you can help this seller ---- at least he wants to do something.

Bart:

Sad but true we never know what the human spirit will do until it is tested.

Rick

What is a mystery is why they don't even what to try and save their home. It like they have such a case of apathy.
