I want THAT job!

By
Real Estate Agent with Sound Realty

It's been a hell of a day.  One of those days when you just want to hang it up.  One went in...one fell out...when is teetering on the edge...and every one a struggle.  Hours and hours of work on every one of them.

Then I made a comment on ActiveRain and smiled.

The word I ha to enter to get my comment to stick was "jujube".  Remember jujubes?  I used to eat them at the movie theater when I was 10 years old.  I wondered who on the ActiveRain staff came up with jujube?  Who is old enough to remember jujubes over there?  They are mostly all almost half my age!

Then I decided before going to bed that THAT is the job I want.  Coming up with the words you have to type to post a comment.  I want to be an old lady at a laptop making up those words for the world like jujube.  Maybe Italian ones like Paisano.  Or names of guys in my neighborhood like Slasher and Snotty.

Instead of counting sheep tonight...I'm going to make up hundreds of new Captchas :)

I  would probabley get in trouble if I had the word job. I can usually come up with something over the top and offend someone in just about any circumstance.

How do YOU pronounce jujube?

Me: Ju-Joobe
My Wife: Ju-Ju-Bee
I have also heard it pronounced Joob-Joobe, with an extra 'b' in there.

However one pronounces it, today's jujube is akin to a gummi type candy rather than the tough, almost hard candy (which could suck the filling out of a molar) of my childhood.

Ardell, even with your love of words I can't see you being an captcha artiste for more than a few days, then looking for something more challenging.  I can imagine your captcha blog, though. Hundreds of one or two word entries.  Hah!

BTW, my captcha for this comment is gamboge.  I thought it to be a garbage word but hopped over to Onelook and found gamboge defined as a strong yellow color, or a gum resin.  Now I will be slowed by researching every captcha that I don't recognize.  Yet another way to build one's vocabulary!

Greg,

Now I'm going to have to read your blog.  I LOVE rabble-rousers.

Jo,

Yes...I could definitely see you in that job.  I could never do it.  I'm too literal.  I'd be at Red Dye #4,023 by now in sequence :)

John,

I definitely pronounce it like your wife Joo-joo-bee.  Back when I was a Trust and Investment Officer there were days when I wanted to go to work with Laverne and Shirley and put caps on beer bottles on an assembly line.  Anything to lighten the weight on my shoulders.

I remember sitting at my desk one day and saying "I want to scrub floors!"  I stayed at the Bank for 20 years though :)

I've verbalized that I will be hanging up my license soon-- and work at Target.

A cashier pulling things over the scanned...not having to think a wink.  In Miami if you ask them something they respond like this:  "I don't know nathing," (cashier utters) "Pedro, they need sumtin.'"

That's my kind of job

Here's my word:

ananasnaja.

i've eaten jujube's... lots and lots of them... one even pulled out my loose tooth... which earned me a dime... so I bought more jujubes the next day.
