This has been a great day; I hope yours was, too.

My Mom used to call Sunday "the Lord's Day," and it certainly was today.

Our church meets in a high school gym in the shadow of the Pusch Ridge escarpment, a granite outcropping that defines the westerly boundry of the Santa Catalina Mountains.

The setting, as you can see, is one that inspires awe and worship.

Desert Mule Deer in the Tucson Mountains, the westerly boundry of the City of Tucson, Arizona

This evening I hiked in the desert behind our home in the Tucson mountains, and was so glad I had my camera with me, as this Desert Mule Deer doe walked out of the desert palo verde scrub and across my path!

Someone introduced me at an event on Saturday as "a semi-professional photographer."  It's not true.  I'm just a point and shoot guy, but I do it every chance I get, and every once in a while, I get one that I really like.

If you're thinking of adding photos to your blog, jump right in!  Active Rain's platform makes it so easy, even an old codger like me can do it!  LOL

I keep a digital camera in the glove box of my car so that I can get random shots kinda like this.  Excellent advise.

Lynda,

You're so welcome!  Thanks for stopping by to read and comment.

Donna,

Thank you.  Digital cameras are cheap at Costco.  Be sure to get one with a glass lens, not plastic.  Mine is a Panasonic with a Leica lens, and it has an optical zoom of 10.  I think it goes for about $200.

Terry,

Isn't that the truth!  Thanks for commenting.

Cheron,

You're kind.  Good to see you.

Linda,

I do feel blessed to live where I do.  Also to have fine Texans like yourself as friends.  Thanks for commenting.

Don,

Anyone can do it.  The deer photo was blurry, and I almost discarded it.  Then I decided to see what bumping up the contrast a little would do for the pic, and voila!  It sort of looks painterly!

Charles,

They're everywhere.  I'm sure they'll be back, posing for you.

Susie,

I'll have to come take a look-see.  That sounds like a great idea!

Clint,

I'll see you soon on your blog.

Jan,

It does sort of look painterly, doesn't it?  I took the photo at twilight, with no flash, and was moving the camera to follow the doe as I clicked the shutter.

Doreen,

Come on back.  What do you mean by the PR shot?  I'm in the dark.

Cynthia,

You do a great job with your photos on your blog!  thanks for comenting.

Judy,

She'll be back, and you'll get the photo.

Matt,

Thanks for the encouragement!

Missy,

Thanks for stopping by; it's good to see you.  "The earth is the Lord's..."

Jesse,

Yes, I do!  You're pretty handy there yourself.

Mary,

Sounds like belt and suspenders!  thanks for commenting.

Katerina,

Amen to that!

Karen Anne,

Right you are!  Thanks.

Virginia,

Maybe I'm an expert!  (An EX is a has-been, and a SPERT is a drip under pressure.)  LOL

Shanna,

Thanks for being the first to comment.  Where's a pic of that baby?  I'm a grandpa, and love to see people show off their little ones.

Boy, have I missed you!  I'm so glad to know that you're like the ocean.  Even when I'm off doing other "important' things... you're still here.   Still giving us a great perspective of "your" little corner... thank you.  it's late here - and I still looked forward to a "little piece" of Arizona.

Doreen,

The first photo was taken at Catalina State Park, just north of the location of Pusch Ridge Academy.  Good eye, girl!
