What do you recommend for a good "Real Estate" vehicle?

By
Real Estate Agent with Reece and Nichols

Sorry for the long absence from blogging.  I am going to be looking for a used car.  The 1997 Buick Park Avenue I inheirited from my Mom is about at the end of it's life.  I am enjoying not having a car payment, so I plan on paying cash.  Any suggestions?  I am looking in the $10,000 to $15,000 range.  What do you find works best for your real estate business?

I hope you start with something American made.  There are tremendous buys if you are looking for SUV's.

You can almost purchase a new Honda Civic for that price.  actually about 18k.  I am about 6'2" and it fits me and 3 others ok.

Honda's never let you down!  I am a proud owner of a 2007 Accord and prior to that a 1995 Accord!  The newer ones are roomy enough for your clients and have lots of extra space in the trunk for all of your signs, name riders, brochure boxes, etc...

I would buy the caqr I have - a 2003 Mercedes E320.  You can pick one up used for $14,000 - a very nice one at that - and it is excellent.

It depends if you need a tax deduction!  If a car weighs over 6,000 pounds, you can use it as a deduction and depreciate it.  I have a Daneli SUV, I love it.

My first suggestion would be to not pay cash....it's better in your investment portfolio than it is to worry about not having payments....also if you buy it for work only, put signs on it...you get a better write off....

What about a Subaru Outback, all wheel drive for those out of town roads, extra room and more economical than an SUV.

I like the Hyundai Sonata.  It gets great gas mileage and is very dependable.  Let us know what you pick!  :)

You are a realtor, right? You need something you can carry people around in, something comfortable, and unless you don't care about fuel costs, you need a fuel conscious vehichle. I recently purchased a 2007 PT Cruiser from Carmax. I really don't like the car that much, but the price was right ($12000), it is comfortable for passengers and it gets decent mileage. Another great option is a Kia Optima. Good Luck.

Personal Service, always.

Regardless...buy used. Why all that depreciation? 4 doors, good AC, reliable.
