New York Canoli's in Ocala Florida? Could it be??? Oh Yes it's true!!!

Being of Italian decent and being raised in New York I developed a taste for good Italian food, and better yet good Italian pastries.

I've lived in Ocala Florida for 4 years and have returned to New York twice.  When we went back it was a necessity to have a slice of pizza and then visit our favorite bakery in Kings Park on Long Island.

Well its been 2 years since my last visit so I've had a hankering for canoli's, pignoli cookies and good pizza for a good long while.

There are a few good pizza places here, one being Belleview Pizza.  Go to Belleview Pizza while the snowbirds are here and you will be waiting with great anticipation for a seat.  Belleview Pizza has the closest to NY pizza I know.

Now for Dessert!  Honestly I haven't tried the pastries at Belleview Pizza, but I have had some heavenly canoli's at the new New York Bakery & Deli.  Their canoli's are creamy, flavorful and delicious!

If you've been looking for a place to get some good Italian Pastries and a good deli sandwich then The New York Bakery & Deli...Formerly Magnolia Bakery is the place you want to go

Hi Sara,

Nothing like an good ole New York style pizza. The best pizza I've ever had the pleasure of consuming was in Brooklyn.

Eugene,  I've never had pizza in Brooklyn but I've had it several times in Manhattan and on Long Island...At this stage of the game I don't know if I'll ever get to Brooklyn again but if I do I will check out the pizza there.

Hi Sara ... Any title containing the word canoli, I will read.  I left the City for upstate NY and I am lucky to have excellent pizza nearby.  However, I have yet to find a canoli as good as in the city.  Every once in awhile someone will bring we some from my favorite place in Brooklyn or from Staten Island, and then I'm in heaven .... Thanks for the post ... of course, now I want one!

I agree Sara Belleview Pizza is a gret Italian Restaurant..I am from NY also and moved to Ocala seven yrs ago..I found a couple of pizza places that were close to NY pizza..one is La Famiglia pizza on baseline rd, the owners are from NY..Another is Paulys pizza they were in the Villages and they have since moved to state rd 42..Pasta Faire has prety good pizza and good Italian food..Publix  and sweet bay have pretty good cannolis the best that you are going to find in florida..I have tried Magnolia bakery and then they close and reopened and at the time the new owners were just opening and had very little..Still searching for a good Italian Bakery..
