A trip back in time...Hope you enjoy this first installment!

McDonalds 15cent hamburgers.  A friday night treat for us!

Gas at apx 20cents and then they gave you a glass or some other tableware.  I remember gas at 16 cents and still getting the glass!

45 rpm records and 45 spindels

Alka Seltzer jingle...Plop plop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is!

Aluminum Christmas trees with the color wheel.  (We had two color wheels and the had to match colors or get rid of it...per MOM)

Plastic Army men...I won't even get into what replaced these Hero's!!!

The simple Humor of Beany and Cecil.  Not only do I remember these guys, I remember this issue!

There you are, trip one down memory lane.  Those of you who can remember these, have truely lived!!!

I remember quite a few of these, especially the silver Christmas Tree and the McDonald's signs.  LOL

I remember each of these also.  When in high school we would go to McDonald's (before it was referred to as Mickey D's) and get 15 cent burgers, 10 cent fries, and 15 cent milk shakes.  You sure could get a lot for a buck!  Some advertising carries on through the generations.  Once, when I was teaching a fifth grade class (in the late 60;s) and talking about advertising I mentioned Alka Seltzer and my class responded in unison "plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is!"  It just goes to show you the power of advertising!

Btw... do you remember those frogmen you could get by sending in a boxtop to Battle Creek, MI that dove and raised in water if you put baking soda in them?  I sure do  lol

Suddenly, I feel like my mother... and have an irresistable urge to tell my kids about the good old days! :)  I think they all know about the 22 cent gas, but not the rest of the really important things!
