Give Your Pooch A Job, They'll Work Like A Dog!

Realtor David Burke & Mr. Cates Are SoldI learned a long time ago the 3 best must-have marketing components of an effective AD. It's best known as The 3 T's.

1. Tits (I'm sorry, I didn't create this concept but it's true)

2. Tots - Everyone loves ADs with kids; and

3. Terriers - Pets are a real charm.

We have used our dogs on our website, in Ads/Print Media and we take them with us as much as possible. Pets put a smile on even the grumpiest of people. At least once a year, we send out postcards with our favorite dog biscuit or cat treat recipe. Then througout the year we continue to hand these cards out when ever we see people walking their dog or make a comment about their pets. We also ask on listing appointments if the sellers have pets. If so, we take a bag of treats with us. It's always a hit.

Greg,

The three T's will be able to sell about anything, that it true.  I learned that in my Marketing classes at Boise State University.  The first one gets the guys (and some ladies attention) since they are typically more visual; the "Tots" show empathy, warmth and compassion, and the "Terriers" appeal to everyone.

Haven't seen you for years since a Cyberstar Function.  Good to see your still out there.

Keep me in mind for Idaho Real Estate!  Thanks!

 Absolutely, I'm a BIG time animal lover myself and anyone who ever brought a treat, goodie or toy for one of my critters was a a hit with me and with them. ;-)

I never thought to take a bag of dog or cat treats to a listing appt....but one time I did get a listing from a client who owned two standard poodles...they ended up rescuing one and gave him to me so that I could have two standards as well! lol....the picture idea is great...something I never thought of.

Hey Jim - Thanks for reconnecting! For 7 years I was in a risky clinical trial called broker-owner. It nearly killed me and I am happy to say even though I gained 100lbs in the experiement, I have been back listing & selling for the past year and never happier. Oh, I am working on the weight thing too! Hope you're going great guns in Boise.

Marti - Reaching out to pets and kids is MAGIC! We also have a kids listing book we use when we know there are kids in the house. Before meeting with the parents, we ask if we can talk to the kids 1st and we get down on the floor and read our "Kids Listing Book" together. It would be rare that we have to answer many questions with the parents because we have already earned the listing. MAGIC! Thank
