Obama at the Blowhole. Too funny.

Real Estate Agent with 1st Action Real Estate

Just had to pass this along for those of you who might need a chuckle. You probably noticed I haven't done any political posts the past couple weeks. That's because I've been on Kauai and Maui and so I've made a few posts to Traveling Rainers. For those of you unlucky enough to actually have real estate business to attend to - you can experience a virtual vacation through me. In fact if you want to take up a collection and send it over, I'll gladly stay another week or two and let you know how it is. Thanks.

Anyway, as you're no doubt aware, everyone's favorite Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama, has also been in Hawaii this week too - over on Oahu. Apparently he spent some of his growing up years there so he is somewhat of a returning son or some such drivel. He has been getting very brief mention on the Maui TV news station we've watched.

Today on the radio they did a quick report that he's going home either today or tomorrow but spent yesterday snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, which is a glorious shallow volcano crater offering some of the most spectacular and easiest snorkel views anywhere. He followed that up with a visit to the famous Blowhole at Halona, where he threw a lei into the ocean to honor his parents - (which ones he honors is actually unclear but it made a great photo op).

According to the radio report "Thereafter he stood on the rocks in silent contemplation of the Blowhole (brief pause) probably getting inspiration for his speech at next months convention."

I thought I was going to drive off the road. That's funny I don't care who you are. Aloha

Mr. Wunderlich, in my "diatribe", I mentioned William Rhodes Davis, the American who was a Nazi Abwehr agent who funded Willkie's 1940 presidential campaign. This WR Davis was truly, "Hitler's man".

The link to display Davis' relations with hitler at Google Books:

If there are truly two "rival political parties" operating in the US, how do you explain how and why republicans gave former California governor, Gray Davis, a "pass" when it came to publicizing the fact that Nazi agent William Rhodes Davis was Gray Davis' grandfather?

Do you believe Karl Rove's well developed RNC opposition research team simply was unaware of Gray Davis' grandfather, and allowed Arnold Schwarzenegger's Nazi family background to saturate news reporting, out of ignorance? Schwarzenegger, ironically, requested that the Wiesenthal Center investigate his family's Nazi ties, as far back as in 1990. Gray Davis was never challenged to account for his family background.....

Isn't it true that the average Frenchman has done a far better job of making his government provide an envious minimum standard of benefits and protections from threats to his health and economic security and to degradations of his leisuretime, retirement age and retirement security, and living standard, than American voters have? Isn't it true that despite this, the American currency and economy is the one with the immediate threats to it's continued sustainability, and not the French currency and economy? How, from a right of center point of view, could that even be possible? With French GINI at 28 and American Gini at 45, which system seems to face a more grave threat of political "blowback" catalyzed by concentration of wealth trend? If ownership of 70 percent of total US wealth by just ten percent of the US population, is "not a problem", what higher percentage would "be a problem?" From a right of center POV, shouldn't the things the average Frenchman have wrung from the political process in France, have caused France, to be "on it's ass", as far as it's balance of trade, popularity with foerign tourists, and by extension, the "hit" to the valuation of the French national currency caused by the way wealth is distributed in France? In fact, the opposite has happened....it is the US that is facing the future with an enormous annual percentage of national debt growth and trade deficit, despite a hollowed out, devalued currency....how could that be, from a right of center, perspective? Shouldn't the weakended US currency stimulate tourism and exports, shouldn't the lowest taxation levels in the post industrialized world, empower Americans to provide their own health, economic, and retirement security? It hasn't happened!

Hanauma Bay is still my most favorite place to snorkel and I've snorkeled in all the hot spots from Jack Cousteau's Black Hole in Belize to the Caymen, Cozumel, Jamaica, St.Marteen, The Keys, etc...  I just LOVE that place.

The comments here are incredible...  they are worth several blogs..

Gene, you troublemaker you...  even when you go on vacation, you stir things up...

Thanks for the pure entertainment!

Mirela - you do get around - and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. I love to travel and you have been to a lot of places I would love to visit. I'm waiting for the underwater photos I took at Molokni and Turtle Town off Maui to come back. Loved the sea turtles frolicking around and we followed two large rays for about 15 minutes - they were so graceful and languid in the movements it was unreal being so close. Don't know what kind they were - they had brownish backs with yellow spots and almost birdlike faces with very long whip-like tails. Beautiful creatures.

Troublemaker? Jeez - Simon mentioned the road to Hana and we get a historical dialiectic. I wasn't up for that level of discourse on vacation but I may jump into the fray now that I'm back.

Lol! It's Sept 26, 2011 and this post has withstood the test of comedy time! (although not laughing at the current status quo in America - her back is bowing and needs true patriotic constitutional support)
