"Costco Warehouse Silverdale WA" - Local Business on the Kitsap Pensinsula WA

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams West Sound Realty

In the early 80's, after the Kitsap Mall was completed, growth in and around the Silverdale WA area literally exploded, and a badly needed retail mecca for residents was created. To this day, it has continued to attract many of the national chains and big box stores.

By far one of my favorites is the COSTCO Wholesale store here in Silverdale.

I could spend hours there. We had a membership but it recently expired....I have to go buy stuff in bulk so I'll probably go there soon after the storm or maybe before.

Yeah Rich, there's my second post for the New Localism.....love it! We do all our shoping at Costco....cuz we never have time and so we can load up and save....no longer tapping my fingers. Thanks, Rich! Also....my ability to add neighborhoods now works. I had reported it to just about everyone and it probably got solved by the new roll-out! Thanks anyway!

Hi Rich,
Golly, I do love Costco and wish we had one closer!  I find their food products are much superior (and fresher) to another un-named warehouse wholesaler.  I bought Romaine lettuce at Costco 4 weeks ago and it is still good!

Hi Rich!  My FAVORITE store--COSTCO!  Three things I love about Costco:  GREAT prices, FREE food samples, and that check that I get back at the end of the year for spending money in a store that I LOVE!   ;-)

I think the #1 thing you forgot about Costco is the amount of money you save on GAS!

I've been to Costco with my Mom in Montana...and we have a couple of them, I believe here in Atlanta. But Sam's Club is closer to my house, so I go there. Has anyone done both and want to give me a comparison? I don't see much difference between the Costco in Bozeman, MT and my local Sam's Club, other than the Costco building is newer!

And you do have to buy in bulk. But one way to work that for a smaller family, or even singles is this: 1) Shop with a friend that you know likes things you like, and divide them up; 2) Buy a Seal-A-Meal , divide up the food yourself, and freeze it! Then you are stocked up!

Thom- My in-laws live in Northern ATL.  There is a costco nearby and the sams...here in Myrtle Beach, we have the same thing so my wife and I frequent both.  They both have a lot of the same type of things in the staples for a household (paper towels, bananas, milk) and prices are very competitive.  The big difference is in the specialty items which are normally only in for a season.

Vacuum Sealing is where it is at.  I usually buy an $18.00 pork loin and slice it into chops and maybe a roast or 2 for my wife.  The last time we bought one we were able to get 8 meals from one $18.00 pork tenderloin!  We do the same thing with the Ribeye Roast.  Buy one for $48.00 and get 12-15 great steaks from it!

Rich - seems like everyone uses Costco in our area. The value is definitely a huge plus.

We have Costco right down the street....and how come you got free weenies? (are those the weenies in that pot slow cooking in some kind of home made sauce?) We do that executive membership and get back the 2% at the end of the year...pays for the membership and a few extra bucks too.

I have a Costco that isn't terribly far away, and a Sam's VERY close.  I shop at Costco.

BTW, they are GREAT for tires.  They carry BFG and Michelin, as well as a few other brands.  They will order in tires for you with a small deposit, and the prices including road hazard beat the poo out of just about anyone else.

Rich - I spoke to our local COSTCO manager and she agreed to let me rent the furniture aisle on a month to month basis so I didn't have to drive so far to get there!  LOL  I love that place!

And yes - their milk prices are the lowest anywhere.  And if you go through sugar at all...they have 10 pounds of sugar for something like $3.29 --- instead of the $2.29 for 4 pounds in our stores here!

This the 3rd time I am trying to leave a comment. The first time just as I was hitting submit, IE timed out and said it had to close. Logged back on went to your post and typed it and then the screen was empty. #rd time is a charm and I can't even remeber what I was saying , other than I love Costco and should also have done a local post on it since I do spend a lot of time and money there. Let's see if this time is the charm or...............

Rich,

Thanks for the post. Great post on one of America's favorite shopping destinations. There isn't anything that you can't get there. I was able to get everything I needed for our new office's grand opening cocktail party!

Rich, A man after my own heart:)  I LOVE Costco. So much nicer than Sams!  I love to stroll the aisles and graze, like you do.  I also love smoked weenies. They've never had them when I have been there:(  Maybe I'll call and get their sampling menu and schedule, lol!

I just love the way you always show your personality in each and every post. IMHO!
