October 2008: Kapalua LPGA Classic

The Ladies Professional Golf Association's (LPGA) third Hawaiian Tour 72-hole tournament event is scheduled for October 13 - 19 2008 on the Arnold Palmer/Francis Duane designed Bay Course at Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawaii.

Top female golfers such as Annika Sorenstam, Lorena Ochoa, Ai Miyazato, Paula Creamer, and Natalie Gulbis will be competing for a $1.5 million purse. Also scheduled is an 18-hole Pro-Am event, where each Tour professional is paired with a four-member amateur team for a relaxed compentition.

Kapalua is also home to the PGA TOUR's Mercedes-Benz Championship, held on the Plantation Course.

West Maui is famous for its world-class golf courses, as well as its stunning beauty and near perfect year-round weather.
