Kayaking on the Delaware River

I can't swim, but the floating foodie paradise is a must see and do. Thank you Lisa! Love your photographs!

Last weekend was such a beautiful weekend that I took an afternoon off to go kayaking on the Delaware River.  At River Country in Point Pleasant, PA you can rent a kayak, canoe, raft or tube.  They will drive you 6 miles up river and you can paddle your way back.

If you feel like stopping for lunch, you can swim, float or paddle to The Hot Dog Man where you can order from the floating restaurant and eat at the picnic tables which are located at the edge of the river (in the water!).  The atmosphere is festive and it is always a good time.

There were many people out on the water last weekend enjoying the blue skies and sunshine.

For the adventurous, River Country is offering a Full Moon Splash on September 15th where you can canoe or kayak at night by the light of the full moon - sounds like fun - think I will be there :)

We went down the Delaware 3 weeks ago in rafts. We must have done a different piece since we didn't see the floating hot dog stand.

It is a great way to spend the day.  Fun for all ages.

Great pictures too.

Morning C,

What a great way to spend a sunny, warm day. I can see why it is so well utilized. Fun for folks of all ages. We would enjoy the moon lite paddle. Too bad we are so far away. You and yours go and enjoy it, then post your experience and the photo's you take.

Don, the hot dog stand is a marvelous idea. :-)

Mel, it does look like a bunch of fun, doesn't it? Very cool!

Josef, rafting is mad fun. My Uncle William thought some of my cousins were crazy going out on the water. He said they kept disappearing and re-appearing. At one point he was sure they were goners (LOL). I can't swim so i have to pass things like that up, but I do want to try white water rafting. Seems very exciting. I really am gonna have to make an effort to learn how to swim. :-)

Hal, Lisa Friedman gets all of the credit. Seriously! :-)

C & Lisa - Really like the post, reminds me of back home in Minnesota with all those lakes and rivers. I use to kayak in white water rivers for competition when I was younger, paddling throw gates and teaching how to roll in a kayak. I am not sure if you know what that is, if you tip your kayak over there is what's called a skirt that keeps the water from coming in. When your up side down you swing your paddle and body around and roll but up right instead of bailing out of the kayak. Sorry to bore you with my story. Lisa, great photos and it really looks like a fun time, thanks for the post "C"

C - Leaving home when I was 14 years old and moving 2000 miles from my family and friends, I learned many things in life. I am glad you have learned some thing new. I remember when I was in college and taking new courses, I came to realize at that point how little I knew.

Robert, the more I work and read the more I am realizing I haven't got a clue. :-) I'm back in college at 43 and it is not easy. Thank God for on-line courses or I would never be able to try and earn my degree. I am such a computer geek. I'm doing law and computer technology from two different institutions at the same time. Thank God I got my paralegal diploma but who knows when I am going to get my computer degree. My schedule is insane (LOL).

C - Through my life's experience's I have had many dreams come true. I believe if a person really wants something and it was meant to be, " So it shall be "

Peoples dreams also come with patience which I have learned in my 50 years of life, and believe me it took a very long time for me to be patient.

I have also found that through mind image, closing ones eyes and visualizing seeing themselves in their dream or goal speeds up the process.

And one more idea that I have used and by using it was able to have a life long dream happen in 3 months. Some how take a photo of your dream, maybe a pic of you by your computer, etc. and put it somewhere where you always look everyday. Where there is no clutter of other items, your car, bathroom mirror, etc. Every time you see this pic, close you eyes and tell yourself I am there right now and it feels good and I really like this feeling.

Thank you for reading!..............................Robert

Robert, what a lovely visualization technique. I shall have to try it. Creflo Dollar talked about that once. He always placed his photographs on his refrigerator, so every time he went into the kitchen he would declare he was going to be debt free and have the items he selected visuals for. How cool is that? Awesome! :-)
