New Agent

By

I am pleased to announce we've added a new agent to our office.   Tom is an attorney, former in-house counsel for a non-profit.  He has a good deal of experience buying and selling his own real estate.  He just received his real estate license and wanted to hang it with us.

So what would you guys say to a brand new agent these days?  What are the "New Basics"?  What are the core skills to develop?

Technology skills are vital in today's real estate world and they go a long way in leveling the playing field when competing with larger or franchised offices.

In our market a willingness to prospect through traditional means and technology supported means is critical.  A few years ago, we were handing alot of our buyer leads off to newer agents because we were swamped and in my office I find that has really sloooowed way down.  New agents are having to get out in the real world and gnerate business today to survive instead of feeding off the crumbs.

I originally posted this question here in Brokers Owners as a group post only.  I then decided to add it as a full fledged blog post, and let the rest of the world dive in.  Here's a link to the other discussion, in case anyone is interested:

What is a CAT BLOG?

According to Seth Godin: "Cat blogs are for, by, and about the person blogging. A cat blog is about your cat and your dating travails and your boss and whatever else you feel like sharing in your public diary."

Well, I am the boss, my dating years are behind me, but I do love my cats.

Enjoy!
