Take Time Out!

By
Real Estate Agent with Solid Source Realty Inc GARE#284610

I have started this sentence three times and it's difficult to figure out how I want to say it.  God uses us all say certain things and some times it's to someone or to a group.  As I write this I am discovering that this post should not only to the one group that I originally thought I was going to post to but also to mothers.

As mothers and as real estate professionals we take time to assist others, our families, your clients and our friends.  I ask do you also take time for yourself?

I found myself ministering to two women today, two mothers and what these mothers had in common was that they did not take time to take care of them and  I also find myself in the same situation.   We give and give and sometimes we have nothing left for ourselves.  Today, I urge women to find time, even if just an hour or two to take time for you.  We give some much to our spouses, our children and to our careers, but many of us don't make ourselves a priority.

God gave a great gift when he made mothers and some of us are not mothers because we've given birth, but we still mothers. Make yourself a priority today!  Find time to go to the gym, the park, the spa or anywhere else you can find peace and a moment to think!

I celebrate all the great mothers are at Active Rain and everywhere!  I hope the men that may read this post will take time out to let the women in their lives know who much they are appreciated, don't wait until Mother's Day!

I agree with you.  Being a mother is very hard work.

Ava, BEAUTIFUL advice!  Now I need to find time to implement it.  :)  I am not trying to make light, I have been giving serious thought to taking me time.  I own horses (a true passion for me) and haven't ridden in more than two years.  A goal this summer is to get the babies (2 new foals) trained to do the basics and start riding again.

I challenge all you mothers out there that currently don't make any time for youself to set a weekly goal.  It could be as little as 15 minutes, then stick to it.

How right you are.  We give so much of ourselves away that we forget about "us"  Mothers are the best.  I hope all will celebrate their mothers.

I am so glad you did this blog.  I do not take time for myself.  I even have a gym membership that I planned on using as "me time"....but always seem too busy either working, tubby time, cleaning...

I really need to take your advice.

Great Post!  We have so many different hats to wear that we always come last!  Before real estate I used to run 3 miles every morning...now...forget it.  I have even tried scheduling it in early in the morning, but it never seems to happen.  I think we all need to take time, because if something happens to us, we can't give of ourselves.

I think on Monday I will stick to my plan of running and actually start putting it in my day planner and schedule everything else around that.  I think we all need to do that!!!

Wives and spouses that are moms are so under rated in these "Go get em" times......

I applaud all moms!!!!!

Go find some time for reflection and inspiration......go to a spa.......the park....... go to lunch with your sisters (Girlfriends) !!

=-)

Jason,

Thank you for acknowledging all that mothers do!

Theresa,

Like you I need to implement it!  I hope you get back in the saddle soon.  We should never give up the things we love.  I like your idea of at least taking 15 minutes.

Dianne,

Yes, we often forget about ourselves, but we must add ourselves to the to do list.

Ann,

I am glad I touched you with this blog and hopefully many others.  I know how you feel I too have a gym membership that I haven't used in about two months.  I'll have to do better!

Laura,

Yes, real estate can certainly consume us.  I am glad that you are scheduling yourself to start running again on Monday.  I am going to start going back to the gym on Monday too.  Let's stick to it!

Ava:  A wonderful post, I am sending my mom flowers today, just because! I love being a mom, but at times, it can be a juggling act. Thanks for an insightful view! Blessings to you!
