Schuylkill Parcel Locator

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Erica Ramus - Ramus Realty Group - Pottsville, PA RM420589

For years, when real estate agents or the public wanted information about a property, we had to go to our courthouse. A few years back the county spent a ton of money on making this information available online, to anyone. What a blessing that has been for all of us!

Now, to find out property information, you just have to click here!

This is available in Wayne and Pike County too.  Susquehanna requires you to pay a subscription, I think.  Either Susq. or Lackawanna.

This is terrific and it IS a blessing!

Erica,

Bear in mind, this information is good to have available, but it doesn't substitute for information needed to run a prudent title search from the actual County records...there may be discrepancies and time constraints!!! Thanks,   Fran

Fran: Of course! But when we list a property it's the first place we go, to the property record card, to get the info needed to start the listing process. Any buyer should have a good title search.

I have heard that in some counties, you must pay to use the service. It is free to the public to use here in Schuylkill County.

Usually I have found it takes a few weeks after a house is closed on for it to show updated on the Parcel viewer.. so 3-6 weeks after closing on a sold house.  I love clicking on properties that I never knew who owned them but saw them everyday for the last 20 years.

Thanks!  I found the parcel locator and have looked at a couple of houses I found on realtor.com.

Unfortunately, there aren't explanations for every piece of info the PL has.

For example, under BUILDING INFORMATION,  it offers:

  • Exterior Condition
  • Interior Condition
  • House Grade

each with a one-letter code.  There's no lookup for what the codes mean.  One house has a House Grade of "D"--is that on an A-F scale, meaning the house is in bad shape?  How do I find this info out?

Adam--yes it depends on the backlog at the court house.

Greg--Don't go by what the PL says for house grade/condition! They are highly inaccurate, and the info can be 10+ years old. The codes mean nothing to you and me, and probably are not right. Ignore them.

THe only way to find out condition is to drive by and then get inside.
