Co-branding with Lowes

By
Real Estate Agent with Prominent Realty Group

lowes realtor benefitsI just signed up with Lowe's realtor benefits.  Been meaning to do it for a while, but just never got around to it. So far, I'm very impressed. Once you sign up, you are eligible as a realtor for all of the discounts your clients could get. There are three options available, potential buyer, seller and new homeowner, each with different pictures available.  Every client you enter gets a 10% discount coupon at Lowes and then you get to select another benefit from a list of six other things. They range from money off of paint, to a 20% discount on new carpet. Their system keeps track of your clients and shows you exactly what they will be receiving in the mail.  It also tells you when they can expect to receive it and shows you a mock up of exactly what they'll get in the mail. It comes out to three different pages. Pretty slick.  You can also customize the pictures that is printed on the front as well as change your information as often as you need to.

Also included is a personalized "dream book" available online to your client (that's the sample.shopper url).  I'm trying it out on my clients that I've been blogging about. (evil title, etc)  The transaction was a trying one and they were super the whole way through.  Plus they are going to remodel the kitchen and paint, so its a perfect gift.  If you haven't signed up already, go to lowesrealtorbenefits.com.  You'll have to enter a bunch of information at first but then you'll be ready to go. As a side benefit, you can order gift cards at a 5% discount as well as purchase magazine subscriptions as well as send your client a subscription to Lowe's Creative Ideas magazine. If anyone else has already been using this, I'd love your feedback on how its been working out for you.

Can you Digg it?  I knew you could!

I have been using this for awhile too!  I have heard concerns from others about sharing our database of clients with a third party who may otherwise use it against us later.  The jury is out on that for now.

One thing I always tell my clients too is that Home Depot & Menards will honor competitors coupons.  So if you clients aren't Loews shoppers they can use it at a competitior.

I signed up for the program months and months ago but have failed to really use it.  Thank you for the reminder.  I'll have to start using this again.

I also have been using Lowe's program. One nice feature is the ability to choose the language of the promotions sent to your clients. While I haven't worked with a lot of Spanish-speaking clients, I've worked with a couple, and they really appreciate it.

I've used this with my clients and they love it too.  They get a personized direct mail piece with your picture for 10% off up to $10,000, potentially a $10,000 savings.  You also get to pick a second gift...I chose free delivery for appliances over $400 for my clients for their new home.................

Jan,

Just read your blog. As you may know Lowes is Headquarters are located in Mooresville, NC, just outside of Charlotte and I am proud to say that I was asked to participate in the realtoe forum that put this program together.

As a matter of fact the discount idea was one that I presented to to the Lowes management. Glad that you like it and think that it is worthwhile.

I have been using it since the program began and my clients LOVE getting the coupons.  The personalized postcards they send out for REALTORS are very well put together and impressive.  I've received nothing but GREAT feedback on them.  (Now if I could just get feedback on my listings from agents who show them.. lol)

Yes, I did this last year and continue to sign my clients up but haven't had any feedback from them as to whether or not they found it useful. Sometimes, I think clients just forget to say thank you.
