Enough already about tips on blogging! Are we in real estate or what???

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams SC #38703

Going Crazy at Computer

I got my morning e-mail from Active Rain this morning, and just saw it smacking in the face.  Real estate agents are morphing into bonified techie experts.   I mean just how many posts can we read on how great blogging is to our business?  That's all there seems to be on here these days.  Is anyone working the business?  Or all we just talking about it?  And it's not just on Active Rain, I wanna give equal credit to Real Town, and Relib, among others for this proliferation of "expert knowledge."

I don't mind so much from the "experts" and the website hosts, but all the agents too? Don't get me wrong, there are some great tips here and there, but let's face it a lot of this stuff is all repeat technological info.  Every once in a while there is some new info to share, but in general I am tired of reading all the tips and "why we should be blogging," or  "what you're doing wrong blogging," or "how to generate more comments" type articles.  We're here already, so don't we know that? Huh?

If you are into real estate, I'd like to read about that, or even just about who YOU are. True branding is personal, not just "stuff." And it's not about what I should or shouldn't be doing blogging.

I'm here, so I know already how important it all is... let's change the subject just a bit... please?!

Thanks.

you tell em sista!!! I wonder how much blogging and seo, sem, etc. we have to do today to keep ourselves in the market (or on the first or second page of searches for RE).

We can't be good at everything!

I see those as "read if you need it; skip if you don't". The ones that truly irritate me are the negative ones that get featured. Makes us look like a depressing bunch. The Sky is Falling; run chicken little ;)

I take the "read if you need it; skip if you don't" approach.  There is usually some tidbit I find usefull.  I can do without the need to blog, how to blog, how not to blog, what will happen to you if you don't blog, etc. posts but I suppose they are usefull if you are a newbie.

I agree with that, but did you all see the mass e-mail from Active Rain this morning entitled... So "You Want Comments? See The Posts With The Most!"  The whole thing was on this, and just how many people there do you really presume to be "experts" or are they just copying knowledge from the real techies?  I am sure some of it is from personal experience, but I signed up to be on Active Rain for networking and blogging to my customers.  I already realize it's importance or I wouldn't be here!

I guess I just depend on real experts and not pseudo ones.  I wouldn't describe myself as a blogging or technology expert when I am supposed to be an agent.  But perhaps some of these agents are looking for other work...  Hmmmmm....

 Just my 2 cents.

P.S. My lack of sleep due technology failure, and fire alarms going off all night last night, may have made me particularly "gripey."  Full disclosure... LOL.
