How Many Early Voters?

By
Real Estate Agent with Irongate Inc. REALTORS

Approximately 33% of American voters are taking part in the early vote this year. In 2004, 13% less voters participated in early voting. Millions already cast their ballots due to the recent early voting laws passed in 34 states. About 20,000 Ohioans in the major urban areas were expected to show up at the polls and cast their early ballots, the process began September 30. The major urban areas in Ohio include Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Toledo. Ohio, having 20 electoral votes, is a key state which led to President Bush's victory in 2004.

How many Realtors and Blog Readers are early voters this year? Call me "old fashioned", but I'm going to wait until November 4th to vote. After all, it is election day NOT election month!

I kind of wish I would have went and voted early with the expected turnout.  I may swing in tomorrow and gauge the line, but likely will have to suck it and stand in line on Tuesday.

I'll miss it when all the campaigning over though!  I'm looking forward to Tuesday night though, it should be exciting!

I admit I'm kinda torn on the thing because it's nice and convenient for me to vote early because of business and my international travels.  I do see the problem of widespread voter fraud that can result because of it too.  I think that has to do more with being able to register and vote on the same day.  I think what would be wise is to only alow people who are previously registered to vote in previous elections to vote early.  Newbies have to vote on election day the first time.

What do you think??

Jack and Chad, Thanks for your comments!

Jay, I agree! It would be wise for new voters to vote the tradional way the first time around!
