Unique homes in Central Texas

In my business I see many homes each week. On occasion there are some real standouts in the unique homes category. I want to share one of those homes with you today. There is a Cobb house in Bastrop county for sale. This homes construction is unusual in Texas, but very common in England. When I went to England this spring I saw Cobb houses all over the countryside. This style of home has been around for hundreds of years. The walls are thick and curved and the roof is constructed of traditional thatch. Here are a few pictures to peruse on this cold rainy afternoon. Let me know what you think about this unusual cottage.

Enjoy!

That is very unique indeed.  I like looking at places like that, but I have a tough time imagining buying one of them, unless it was just for the novelty.

It's definitely unique. But the right person could turn into a stunning castle.

While it definitely falls into the green category for construction, I don't know if it is one I would consider living in. But we have to remember there is a buyer for every house out there. It may be perfect for the English person relocating to Texas. You just never know?!?

Very unique indeed. But the right buyer is out there! Good luck and thanks for sharing a house with us that definitely is not your cookie cutter home.

Betina: That is really unique, there must be some very interesting people living in your area! We have lots of unique homes here too, many started off as vacation home.

Dear Craig, John and Mary,

Thanks for stopping by to look at this unusual house. If it was a cookie cutter home it would not have made the cut!  I think it was an artist/potter that lived there, because there is a kiln behind the back patio.

Dear Russell,

I like unusual homes too. I just wish my husband shared my crazy unusual taste. I love the funky colored tiled baths and hand hammered copper sinks and stained glass windows. Dave is vanilla man when it comes to decor, after 14 years of marriage you learn to be more accepting and adapt.
