Do you have this problem?

Home Stager with Stage It Today

I have several realtors who use my services for every one of their listings, I do all of the consultations and get steady business from them with homes that are fairly clean and nice.  Then, I get the calls from the Realtors who only call when they have a disaster of a house and the family really can't or won't do anything to update, paint or fix things... and the Realtor wants to pay me to stage it.

I go in and try to clean up a little, sort through there stained towels, try to arrange or get rid of furniture to divert attention to really bad areas all in a half day of staging.  The homes look way better, but I can't help but think that what really needs to be done to make the house sellable and definetely try to address those issues.

Do you run into calls from Realtors who only think that really bad properties need staging?  I love all kinds, pretty ones, ugly ones, ones where the owners catch the vision and pick up a paint brush, and even those homes where the owners are liturally sitting on the couch with there feet up watching me run around moving furniture. BUT, I want more calls from the homes that are already beautiful, so I can stage them and prepare them to go on the market!!!

I haven't had that problem yet.  But I think my consultation would recommend the homeowner do a lot of preliminary work before I went in to stage.  I understand your frustration.  Its hard to show our creativeness when there isnt anything to work with. The only people I think I would go the extra mile for would be older people.  They wouldnt be able to handle too  many recommendations.
