Any Web Guru's Out There?!?!

By
Real Estate Agent with EXiT Tri-County Realty

I'm a newbie here, and this is my first time "blogging".  I LOVE IT!  In fact, I want to add a blog to my website.  Does anyone have any suggestions linking the blogs from my activerain account to my site, or should I start a separate blog, specifically for my site.  AND if I set up a separate blog, HOW?   Thanks!

DeDra - to add links it would depend on if you are using a program that requires you to use HTML coding or if you just have to type the link and click a button to have it added for you ...

To Add a Link w/ HTML you would use the following code:

<a href=http://www.THESITEYOUWANTTOLINKTO.com" target="blank">  YOUR LINK/SITE NAME </a>

When doing html tags - remember ONE RULE: If you OPEN A TAG example:
<a href=http://www.THESITEYOUWANTTOLINKTO.com" target="blank"> you need to close the tag </a>
(Note: I "Bolded" the <a  and the </a> to show you the open and close tags)

Is this what you are looking for?
PS: Go To http://www.webmonkey.com, and bookmark it - it is how I started my self-education more than 13 years ago :).

DeDra,

You can go either way. If you can simply put a link on your current site to your blog.  All you have to do is say "My Blog" or something and link to: http://activerain.com/blogs/movewithdedra

The second route is to start your own blog. You can do one for free with Blogger, WordPress, Typepad etc. It's very easy. Visit their website and follow their simple instructions. The only disadvantage is the blog URL will include their name, for example, with Wordpress for example it would be yourblog.wordpress.com.

You can buy a domain name www.yourblog.com and then host it where you host your current site then use Wordpress to set up the blog. It's very easy! You just have to play around with it. Before you know it you'll be hooked!

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be more than happy to help you.

Thanks,
Shailesh

I use a training program I found at www.webonlineguru.com. I went from 2 to 3 loans per month to 8 plus every month working less hours.

Hello DeDra! I'm new to AR as well. So far I love it! Have you linked your blog to your website yet?
