New Website, please critique

By
Home Inspector with Comprehensive Building Inspections & Consultants

I finally got my website up and running. I would love some feedback. I'm still "tweeking" it. I hope to be done soon, maybe it will never be done.

I have no problem with constructive critisism. Someone told me my font was too small, what do you think?

Check out the gallery.

Eric,

Thanks for the feedback.

Most of what you see is generic. This site is a "ready to use, out of the box site" from the company that I am using. I did have them somewhat customize the template and now I am rewriting all of the content.

The testimonials that I will be posting are all signed and on letterheads. Very few are inspection related, most are from hospitals or residential clients that I have done work for. Some are from community organizations, some are from local politicians, etc. None shall be "He was great, Lewis from St. Louis".

I never follow my own advice, but one thing to remember is most people whom go to your site probably could care less about all the tech garbage.

Yes I say garbage because these people are on a timer.

All they want is a qualified Home Inspector.(Fast)

They are looking to buy the home of their dreams, not get trained for Home Inspection.

Hey Steve,

Nice site, glad to see you went with Greg. The only suggestion I would have is to change your sample report to a local report that you have prepared. Just change all the names and locations to bogus, for example, change client name Fred Duemig to client name John Sample, change inspection address from Massapequa to anytown. Also, use systems from three or four reports, for example, use the front section from inspection 1, the electrical from inspection 2, the plumbing from inspection 3, etc. All of this protects confidentiality and also gives you a nice sample of your work.

Good luck,

Fred

Steve,

I would not ask for a name and address prior to seeing a sample report either. Many times, a client calls me because of the sample report. Also, many times when I have a client on the phone I direct them to the sample to explain it and discuss.
