Your chosen field

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Hartwig

What is your field?

What made you pick that field?

Are you where you want to be?

Is this something you pictured doing?  How about for the rest of your life?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years and why?

I am a Realtor.  I have wanted to be one since I was 10.  My grandfather was a part time Realtor for 5 years from '65 to '70, then he became full time.  I remember going to his office on the weekends, while he did his paperwokr, checked on homes, andcalled clients.  I watched him build and lifestyle I wanted.  He is 86 now.  He moved to Vegas in 82 and stoped being a Realtor, but continued to by and sell investment properties.  He has done very well for himself and us all.  He isn't on who ever believed in get rich quick.  He is very old school.  I learned alot from him.

I am in the field I want to be in, but not at the point I want to be.  I am part time and can't wait to be full time.  I will be a Realtor until I die.  This is what I want to be and a part of who I am.  My wife's mother was a part time Realtor for at least 20 years and my wife grew up going to see houses and loved it.

My nitch is referrals from people I meet.  They are way easier and helpful.  It is so hard to work with someone that does not know anything about you.

Referrals is the ultimate goal. What do you do to get these referrals

Prudential Southeast Alaska Real Estate - Juneau, AK

1.  I am a REALTOR, selling properties all over Southeast Alaska.

2. When I was 19, I was asked to get my licencse.  I didn't listen 'till I was 34.

3.  I am above where I thought I would be financially but I would like more family time.

4.  This is what I will do as long as I have fun doing it.  When it is no longer fun I will pursue a degree in construction technology with emphasis on architectural design... If I am still able after helping my two boys with their higher education - otherwise I will just have to find fun where it is.

5.  In five years I want to own my home outright and have the opportunity to say NO to business that doesn't pencil out (and the ability to recoginise it as such since I turn down a fair bit now).

I am the only one that actually answered the questions, so I will go to my room now!

Debbie, That is a great answere, as lon as you have fun doing it.  That is the key.  I love Real Estate.

I would love to be able to turn down business if it doesn't look like a good fit for my client and I.  You can't be everything to everyone.

Thank you for anwering the questions.  That is why I asked them, to help myself and others learn from people who have been in the trenches longer.  Thank you
