Charlotte's SECOND Snow Day 2009

Just thought I'd share the excitement of the day here in Charlotte!  We're 'snowbound' again--not really but, we like to say we can't get out so we can sit home and eat bread and drink milk all day and look out at the beautiful fluffy stuff!

Enjoy the photos!

Debe - Oh how I wish we only had two snow days!  Up here it's every two days and we're having a snow storm.  I'm so thankful for sunshine today and long for the spring to arrive.

Debe, I WISH I could be more excited about snow!  We've had more then our share and it doesn't go away--just turns to ice.  Sounds like you need a get-a-way....to New York? :)

We lived in Raleigh NC for six years and I remember how exciting those infrequent snow days were!  The image of you being holed up eating bread and milk all day, enjoying the winter wonderland, is heavenly! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Hi Debe- LOL....bread and milk, why not milk and cookies, or wine and cheese ;-)  Even in Central Florida we've had more than our share of cold.  3 hard freezes a couple of weeks ago and temps down to 29 degrees again tonight.  The frost on the ground actually looked like snow.  Poor plants, we've hauled in what we could and now we'll cover as much in the front as possible....again.  So much is still badly burned from the last freeze.  I'm somewhat comforted knowing by mid-summer all will be verdant again.  Hope you enjoyed your "snowed-in" day and thanks again for helping me with my gif issue, much appreciated :-)

It has been some winter so far Debe.  I think everyone is having more snow (or at least cold) than usual.

Hi Debe,  It's been a long winter...but at least we had sunshine today, which doesn't happen too often for us in the winter months.  That was a pleasant surprise!

Wow you are going to need to head out and get some cross country ski's or snowshoes to get around...LOL...in Pullman to day we had beautiful 50 degree weather...took the pup for a walk around the block before heading off to floor!!  It was great!

Hi Bill:  You'd really do that for me?!  I love the snow and I love to have a day or two that I can't get out but, I don't know if I could do that day after day!  I think I'll be happy with my once or twice a year 'mini' snows!

HEY Donna!  I know--all of you northerners are laughing your a$$e$ off at me but, it is SO rare to have snow twice in two weeks here!  And, like you, I can't WAIT for spring--even though I enjoyed the snow today!

Hi Carole!  If you lived here, I think you'd be a little more excited about it!!  As for the ice--now I DO NOT like the ice at all--it's impossible to drive in!

Hi Janna!  It has been a heavenly day, that's for sure!  We did enjoy that and the hot chocolate!

Hi Gail!  HeeHee!  Now wine and cheese would be a better way to spend the day!  Freezing is so much worse than the snow, that's for sure!  I did enjoy my day and you are welcome--I do hope that I helped you somewhat anyway--it was great to chat with you nonetheless!

Paddy--HEY!  I think everyone has had a tough winter this year!  What's up with that--I thought we were warming globally!!  LOL

Hey Jesse!  HAHAHAHA!  You know, this IS a rare occurance?!  You're still safe moving to the Carolinas!

Hi Gary!  It does seem like it's been longer than usual, that's for certain!  Glad you had a sunny day to improve your frame of mind--I can't imagine it being gloomy for so many months in a row.

Hi Lori!  I'm still LMAO--I saw your comment come into my email earlier and I could not respond from my Blackberry but, I actually laughed aloud at your comment!  50-degree weather huh?!  That's SO awesome this time of year!

My sweetie is a Lhaso--he does have a Shizu tail--which is the breed that we had before Barney!  He is in need of a hair cut badly but, my groomer (on wheels) hasn't been around lately--I'm hoping he's still in business!  That reminds me that I need to call him tomorrow.

Hey Petra:  That's what I was drinking today!! HA!  I just love a snow day!

Hi Lisa:  It wasn't two in a row but, two days this year! We didn't have ONE snow last year so, this is HUGE and I'm lovin' life!

The milk and bread is really a joke and believe me, my hubby makes sure that we ALWAYS have plenty of groceries!  When we head out to Costco, we buy enough for a month!

Debe, it's hard to imagine but it's actually too cold here in Florida to snow if it wanted to! It's supposed to be 19 degrees here tonight! I remember one time when I lived in Atlanta during my film producer days - we were snowed out of our studio and had to call a 'weather day!' In Atlanta as Charlotte, everything comes to a halt. People do not know how to drive in snow and ice. It looks beautiful!

Debe - Your "snow days" are like ours in the North Georgia mountains...Our local newspaper just ran a picture under the headline "Heavy Snows Close Schools" that showed kids sliding down a hill in the snow on trays...only one problem, you could see the top of the grass poking out of the snow..."Heavy Snows" indeed!
