Wordy Wednesday

A home is a house full of love

The worst is behind us... winter weather, that is.  It seems as though we have passed through the dark days of winter and are emerging into spring mode.

It's a little early yet t break out the John Deere and although we'll have snow on the ground for a while longer we're earerly looking forward to summer.

Before we know it we'll be having backyard BBQ's, planning trips to the lake and digging out my 'Fear No Fish' cap to slay some salmon.  There'll be trips to McKinley, wildlife to view and friends and family will start piling into Hotel Clifton.

Peace and tranquility are soon to be a thing of the past.

Fiery Sunset - North Pole Alaska

Our blog has been relatively quiet the past few weeks... we've been working on a project that has taken up more time than I thought possible.  The good news is we're to the point of seeing a light at the of the tunnel... and I'm pretty sure it's not a train. :)  Look for a post on this soon, but for now I'll just say it's a good thing to...

Take time to smell the roses

Last night my much better half and I sat ouside, in the snow no less, and watched the miracle of a fiery sunset.  For the better part of an hour we sat under a blanket in 14 degree weather, sipping hot chocolate and watched God's canvas change in font of us.

Below are a few photo's I snapped between sips of hot cocoa.  Hope you enjoy them...  Click each photo to see an enlarged version.

Hey Jesse - Paddy and Leesa said it for me.....OK then, we'll just have to sit and wait.....impatiently!  Glorious sunset, I suppose having a one-hour sunset in your area would signal the coming of spring.  Very cool clicking to see the image larger.....how did you do that??????

Those are fantastic pictures Jesse, but I do have to admit, in 14 degree weather I would have to have seen that vie from inside the house. Though I am sure with your Winters that's not a bad temp for you guys.

Hi Jesse~ Those photos are amazing.  I actually have been to Alaska by cruise in 1988 and stopping points off the ship.  None of the photos I took did it any justice.  It really is a beautiful place!  Please hurry up and tell us what the surprise is, don't keep us waiting.......

Yeah, I wouldn't be sitting in the snow under a blanket, even if that hot cocoa was spiked with Jack Daniels. I'd be freezing my tootsies off. But that's clearly a gorgeous sunset. OK, maybe I'd sit in the car with the heater running and watch it. I'm such a wuss. That's how I go ice fishing, too . . . hey, can you park the car a little closer to the hole in the ice and crank stick my line out the window vent?

LOL @ Elizabeth, that's me!

Beautiful photos.  I bet a person could spend a month visiting all of the wonderful things Alaska has to offer and not even get a start.

Jesse - I finally did my own blog banner for my outside blog.  Still have the one you did for me on the AR blog.

Jesse, these are spectacular! Here you are, at the top of the world...sitting outside in the snow? Nahhhhh....I'm with Elizabeth. Maybe a hole at the bottom of the car? ;-) It is in the high 70's and beautiful today. Course you can brag when we are experiencing 115 degrees here. ;-)

The photos are beautiful and I'm glad you see the light at the end of the tunnel. But 14 degrees? I'd have to watch from my couch.

Hi Jesse...Here I was thinking of sitting down on the dock tomorrow.  We're supposed to have sunny weather with temperature in the 60s.  It takes that to get me out there.

You two are hardy folks.

Take care and hurry with that surprise you have in store for us.  You must know how curious you made us with that dastardly hint.

Hi Jesse...The more I think about your photos the more I think you should publish a coffee table book filled with them.  If you autograph one I'll buy it.

Just a thought.
