Very nice photo!  I bet you can point your camera in almost any direction and get a shot.

What a cool mountain. The Appalachians are consideralbly smaller than the mountains out west.

That brings back memories of the last time I was there and my brakes overheated and failed as I was driving down Pike's Peak. Thankfully I was a 1/2 mile from the required stop. My brakes smoked for a half hour. You would figure rental cars in Colorado would have the best brakes possible.

BTW, I can't wait to go back.

Hi Sabrina, I always love to see Pikes Peak, and love going to "The North Pole" there, too! Thanks for the photo.

You'll never guess how I found this post -- "google alert"- Colorado Mountain Homes !! :-)

Wow! What an overwhelming response to the  shot I see each day as I close the field gate and lament that yes, I actually do have to pack up and head out for the day.

Rich, I love the green of the Appalachians but the bugs can give the willies in no time flat. I was born in Tenn. as a matter of fact. I was in Knoxville as recently as last March.

Mary, that is great news on the google alert. Tags can be key to a consumer finding us in the great matrix of the web.

If you love this shot then wait until I post my Pikes Peak sunset photo. The rays of the sunset in the west reflect on the back side. You have to wait for the right light but the effect is priceless.
