Kona at the beach in Wailea Maui HIKona goes to the beach in Wailea Maui

It was the first time for my little puppy Kona to go to the beach!

We spent the afternoon on Keawakapu Beach in Wailea, and everyone had fun, not just the dog.

She thought it was great, and who wouldn't?

  • Lots of soft white sand to dig in
  • Lots of smiling people walking by and petting her.
  • Lots of birds to bark at and chase
  • Snacks to eat, water to drink
  • Sunshine, waves, tradewinds

We spent the afternoon on Keawakapu Beach in Wailea, and everyone had fun, not just the dog.

Kona had a nice shady spot to watch the beach goers.  She met a nice dog and lots of people.  It's surprising how many people have a Jack Russell back home.  I think I'll start taking her to the beach more often, and make her a little vest to wear, with my business cards in the pockets.  Then when strangers come up to pet her, they can grab my card... haha.... Buy a home on Maui!  Call The Hunter!  Or maybe a little doggie T-shirt with my website on it?

For a little farm doggie, this was a big outing.  Most of the time she just hangs out on the farm with Uncle Russell and Wally the cat.  Mom and dad don't like her to dig in the garden or in the lawn, but digging in the sand was OK and fun.

Whew, it was a large day!  Gotta do this more often.

Can you dig a beachfront condo on Maui?  There are plenty of condos to choose from.

How cool is this!!! I love the fact that you include your dog in the post! We are very dog friendly at my office and often have them visit! You live in such a great area and YES, I would probably paly hooky from work and go to the beach as much as possible! Of course I have to ask: Whi is "Uncle Russell"?

My marketing guru is a Russel, but I'm sure he's not nearly as well trained as your Jack Russell -- LOL.

Hi Georgina,

Loved your post!  What a great way to spend an afternoon with your little pal "Kona" - she's a cutie too!  Great idea with the little tee shirt with your website on it!  I would have to give it a try!  Thanks for sharing you fun day at the beach with your dog.

Georgina - how cute is Kona - what a great post. I take my dog Patrick to the beach and he loves it. He too chases birds, swims in the waves, and in general has a great time.
