Make some money from spring cleaning.

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Centre Realtors

This is the time of year when most of us do our Spring Cleaning . We often find things we have outgrown, or no longer need . We may find items with the price tag still on .  Instead of throwing things in the trash , we can try to find someone who can use them.

1. You can donate to a charity . You can look up www.Goodwill.org or www.salvationarmyusa.org or the American Cancer Research Center. There are many other charities.

They often need clothing and household articles. You can get a tax deduction. Look up the value on their web site.

2.You can have a Garage sale .

3.You can sell the items on www.amazon.com or www.ebay.com or post it on Craigs list.

4.You can take the items to a consignment store.

5.You can sell electronics at www.gazelle.com .It lists the purchase price online and pays shipping charges and sends a box to ship the item in.

Gita - I think we do most of this :). We are also going to organize another community wide garage sale in May as the weather is more predictable. ~Rita

Karen, I agree. I just go and drop things off at Good Will.

Rita, I like to attend community wide garage sales. I usually buy one or two things and get to meet many people.

One of our local charities will call me and remind me when they are going to be picking up on our street....sure makes it easy to be able to leave something for them in the driveway.

Ann, I used to receive calls at one time. They have stopped picking up so these days I go and drop off at the local Good Will.
