There are new loan programs available for home buyers in Riverside County California that offer down payment gift assistance. There are certain criteria for home buyers and the area they are buying their new home to qualify for these programs. It is based on income, number of people in the household and on a case-by-case basis.
Stony Mountain Ranch is located off Route 79 and is about 10 minutes to I-10 and I-60 and is also about 15 minutes to I-215, easy access for commuting in either direction -- north to Riverside and Orange County, or south to San Diego. It is also located at the cross and east side of Warren Road, on the south side of Esplanade so that it is in the city of Hemet. Across the street is the city of San Jacinto.
Stony Mountain Ranch is located close to schools, Mt. San Jacinto Community College, and shopping, Starbucks, Diamond Valley Arts Center, two super Walmarts, Stater Bros. grocery stores, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, WinCo and other brand name shopping and restaurants; just about anything you need to buy is close by.
Stony Mountain Ranch has views of the surrounding foothills and mountains. Mt. San Jacinto is to the east, and Tahquitz peak is an historical landmark, as well as the famous “S” carved in the San Jacinto foothills on the north side of the valley, and set on fire by high school students many decades ago, beginning a yearly ritual that continued for years, but is now banned – for safety reasons, as you can imagine.
If you have high school age children, they will most likely go to Tahquitz High School, a newly built, state-of-the-art high school. (Don’t hold me to this because based on enrollment this could change, although unlikely, but it could.)
There is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, at the top of Mt. San Jacinto that you can take down the eastern side to Palm Springs. Palm Springs has world famous shopping, restaurants, golf courses, theaters, museums and home to the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
San Jacinto also is home to the little known secret gem of a golf course at the Country Club at Soboba Springs, one of southern California’s award winning PGA Tour Nationwide golf courses, which is about a 10 minute drive from Stony Mountain Ranch.
Driving south on Warren Road from Stony Mountain Ranch to the end at Domenigoni Parkway, where a scene of the movie, The Fast and the Furious, was filmed, nearby to Diamond Valley Lake, the Jewel of California Lakes, Western Science Center for Archaeology and Paleontology and Western Center Academy, a charter school for 6-10th grades, The Center for Water Education, and Valley Wide pool and waterpark, and several sports fields. Amazing, isn’t it?
Hemet is also known for the filming of Seabiscuit, at the old Hemet Stock Farm. Click here for photo essay.
East of Warren Road, off California Road and a few miles north is the Maze Stone, a California State Historic landmark. The Maze Stone is fenced off and there is no parking nearby and traveling on foot may be dangerous as the area is home to many rattlesnakes.
A little known California State Historic Landmark is the Transpolar Record Flight Site, when in 1937 three Russian aviators flew nonstop and landed in San Jacinto, California. Since that time there have been Unidentified Flying Object sightings in the area, particularly on the west side of Mt San Jacinto over Idyllwild and Lake Hemet (one water source for the residents of the City of Hemet). Some rumors are it is top secret military test aircraft, which is a possible explanation since March Air Force Base is only about 20 miles away.
