The neighborhood of Valencia Old Orchard in the city of Santa Clarita is what originally put Valencia on the map so to speak. In the mid 60's young families were looking for an affordable alternative to congested Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Newhall Land and Farming started a master planned community, with Donald Bren as the builder of the Old Orchard Homes. Many people today believe that these homes are among the best built in Valencia.
