The owners have applied a heavy layer of real gold leaf to the steel support beams in the ceiling. Affordable decadence.
Next to The Bun Shop you'll find The Beatnik Barber Shop where men can get a quality haircut for a mere $18. According to their website, "join in conversations about anything from the rise in housing prices to the decline of western civilization". This is a great example of the Baltimore vibe, cool but not pretentious.
Across the street you'll find Minktresses . This beauty business has a Baltimore showroom with a global online audience. The west-side of Mt Vernon is an ideal neighborhood to have a classic retail environment for your business while keeping the overhead costs low.
The nearby Antique Row is main-street type of retail offering that has a mixture of businesses many of which are in the process of transition. It's true, for a long time it seemed Baltimore's Antique Row was not as vibrant as one would hope. What's changed? Three influences; the economy has improved, the area has been designated part of the Bromo Arts and Entertainment District, and it is within the Downtown Partnership jurisdiction.
The Downtown Partnership is an organization with the mission of stimulating economic development in Baltimore City. They have a team of uniformed ambassadors who pick up trash and maintain parks and plantings. This flower pot on Antique Row is a nice example of their good work.
The other neighborhood amenity that makes the west-side of Baltimore's Mt. Vernon so special is the Light Rail. Hop on and in minutes get to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the MARC train to Washington DC, BWI Airport and beyond. From our condos you can walk a few blocks north to hear world class music and head back towards home for a low key nightcap. Divine.
There are a great many restaurants walking distance from our condos. A neighborhood classic is The City Cafe on Cathedral Street. They have remarkably good food available at all times of the day all located in a beautiful building. The fried Maryland Oysters with blue cheese dressing and hot sauce are reason enough to stop in.
Another neighborhood dining option close to our condos is the Milk & Honey Market Cafe. It's a close spot to grab essential groceries. This sweet spot is one minute from the condo.
