30 Luxury Condominiums for Sale

Most of the 602 First Condos are big-really big for the downtown Minneapolis real estate market.  Ranging in size from 1700 interior square feet to over 3000 interior square feet, these units will be 2 and 3 bedroom condos with generous outdoor spaces.  Developers Curt Gunsbury and Robb Miller wanted to appeal to a particular type of buyer demographic within the market--those looking for plenty of space, views and a well appointed condo within the neighborhood.   Every resident will have underground heated parking with the ability to purchase additional stalls, bike racks and storage lockers are also included in the pricing which ranges from the 700s to 3.3MM.

602 First Condos Bathroom North Loop MN

Floor to ceiling glass with views to boot!

The overall feel of 602 First Condos is a refind modern feel on the exterior.  There are few condominiums in downtown Minneapolis quite as modern as this.  The few that come to mind are Cobalt, Humboldt Lofts, Bookmen Stacks and Phoenix on the River.   Loads of floor to ceiling glass contrasted with metal and brick give the massing a very unique look.  Homeowners association dues are reasonable at 30 cents per square foot and do not include monthly electrical and gas bills.  Common areas include a fitness center and public bike racks.

Nestled right along the Minneapolis Riverfront

There are only a handful of buildings along the riverfront in the North Loop--602 Condos will be one of them.  Since the early 2000s the North Loop has grown from a sleepy warehouse filled secton of downtown Minneapolis to a vibrant, high density neoghborhood of the city.  Convinient to light rail and highways, the neighborhood has condos and lofts ranging in price from the 200s up to multi million dollar units.  Restaurants, shopping and a number of high profile companies call this area home.

The 602 First Condos would be a great place to live within the area. You can find additional lofts and condos for sale in Minneapolis as well as all available North Loop condos for sale on my website.

Smack fresh lobster in Minneapolis' North Loop... the place for cool new restaurants and bars
Sharlene Hensrud, Realtor. Listener. Knowledgable. Patient. (RE/MAX Results -

The trend for warehouse condo conversions began in the North Loop with The Itasca in the 1980s. Now it is the spot for the newest and trendiest restaurants and bars. When condo development exploded in this neighborhood in the early 2000s there weren't many services nearby. That is rapidly changing while still maintaining its gritty and independent energy.

One of the new restaurants in 2013 is Smack Shack, the new year-round home for casual fresh lobster that started with a food truck that attracted long lines. I drive through the North Loop regularly, and noticed all the activity on their corner after they opened this winter.

Smack shack1

We decided to check it out for brunch on a Sunday not long ago. It turned out to be a good time to go... not crowded or fancy, just delicious fresh lobster in an atmosphere that reminded me of the East Coast. It made me think of smacking lobster from a walk-up lobster shack in Nova Scotia while sitting at an outdoor picnic table and watching the highest tides in the world roll in.

The Smack Shack food truck became famous for its lobster rolls and lobster mac and cheese, which are still on their menu, but there are also many more offerings. You are greeted by their big lobster pot as you enter... no question that the Smack Shack is all about fresh lobster!

In addition to restaurants and bars, the North Loop has become a hotbed for men's boutique stores and shops that embrace the area's Scandinavian roots. It is also the site of the new Interchange project near the Twins Stadium, which will be a transportation hub connecting all modes of public transportation including light rail and commuter rail... as well as an adjacent multi-million dollar year-round entertainment plaza.

Forbes included the Minneapolis North Loop on their list of America's Best Hipster Neighborhoods.

Also known as the Warehouse District, this centrally located hood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its large warehouses have been converted to apartments, boutiques and restaurants in recent years. Bike trails, a park and an arts collective Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art also boost the hipness quotient.

This area has fascinated me for years... I am excited to see the infrastructure developing to make this an even more awesome place to live.

Check out North Loop homes for sale and homes for sale in the Minneapolis Warehouse District if you would like to think about living in this trendy area close to Downtown, light rail and Target Field that attracts both young professionals and empty nesters.

Security Lofts Minneapolis | North Loop | 404 Washington Ave N. VIDEO
Danny Dietl, Buy, Sell, Lease - (

The owner combined what was originally two separate Security Lofts into one incredible home with New York style, design and inspiration. This home features dramatic 13’ ceilings, with incredible timber beams, exposed brick, concrete floors and over-sized windows that bring in streams of natural light. The open floor plan and pure size will give the new owner a blank canvas to create their own unique and perfect home.

The long brick wall filled with tall windows creates a wonderful backdrop to the overall space. The galley kitchen, as you enter, is a focal point and a great place to entertain or gather casually for informal meals. The main living area is offered definition by some of the larger timber beams which gives versatility to how one can use the space. Several private rooms were created on the perimeter of the loft. Starting with a large and functional mudroom off the entrance. The 4th bedroom could serve as a variety of rooms including as an office or media room. The lofted space could serve as an excellent home office with incredible storage or a child’s dream playroom beneath with shoji screens. In the hallway you’ll find the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, both generous in size and closet space as well as the 2nd bath. Next you have the large master bedroom with a thoughtfully designed double vanity and a custom built walk-in closet that creates a private retreat in the loft. Upgrades were carefully chosen such as Nelson and Artemide lighting and the space was thoughtfully designed. Come enjoy true loft living in the North Loop and let your Security Lofts home inspire you. (Click for the MLS listing.)
